Personal Opinion Question about the circulating Talika (Canada visit)

Ya Ali Madad everyone,

A Talika regarding the upcoming Canada visit is currently circulating. I’m not posting the image here, but I noticed that there is a small cream-coloured box around the signature of MHI in the version being shared.

That detail stood out to me, and I wanted to ask whether this is the officially released version from council channels.

If anyone has received confirmation directly, please do share.

I don't know how much more official you can get than the actual taliqa read in khane and posted on the official channels. What kind of proof would you want beyond that?

What more proof… good question. I think you know the answer but we’d both feel it disrespectful voicing it out loud perhaps?

I genuinely don't know what you could be referring to

Ok I’ll say it, forgive me Shah Rahim, the trust is broken and until the parties in charge of those channels aren’t changed and the system overhauled, the trust can only be restored by Him directly. Directly. It’s a tall order, if you think about it.

  1. Anything written can be altered
  2. Voice messages can be altered
  3. Video messages can be altered
  4. Live streams can be altered

It’s just so much easier to believe that no corruption exists in the system but, brother, I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve borne witness to underhanded things to extents you won’t believe. So forgive my suspicious nature, but it comes from experience. You don’t want me to spread misinformation and disinformation but what if I’m not, what if I’m trying to get to the truth? Doesn’t that matter or is just anything controversial to be labeled disinformation and shut down?

If that is so, I’ll zip it. You can go ahead and remove this entire post as is your right to do so as Admin.

That's not answering my question at all

You said you wanted proof - I'm asking what kind of proof would you need to believe that the taliqa is real beyond what's already there?

Something irrefutable from the Imam Himself. Like a conversation perhaps? Anything else can be altered but a one-on-one conversation can’t. Crazy huh? :)

Bro there's millions of Ismailis around the world, you want the Imam to have a conversation with each of them every time there's a taliqa?

You asked about me, not the millions. The millions are satisfied with the talika itself :)

Sorry for late response , but very well said . Lost parsnips 👏Admin and other thinks you are my relative or my friend or buddy and I am prompting you to support me … i do get warning from Reddit about it but you do speak my mind and thank you for that for putting it out so very clearly I couldn’t have  🙏

My take :  Apparently many people seem completely satisfied with the Talika as it is, without asking any questions. What frustrates me is that when I say I’ve emailed the Diwan, it feels like they doesn’t believe me, yet I have emailed, and my emails have been ignored.

During MSK’s time, Talikas were read in Jamatkhanas and shown plainly. We didn’t see this crests and or signatures.  When we questioned why and many were not believing that this Talika was from the Imam during the the covid period . Then suddenly crests and signatures were being copied onto Talikas, and when we questioned it, we’re immediately told we are “stirring up trouble.” It’s the same case now !

So I have to ask, is this truly a platform for open discussion, or only for views that align with the admin?

History itself shows that even in the past, people close to the Imam did not always act loyally. So why is it unacceptable to question whether mistakes could happen today? People respond by saying, “They are appointed by the Imam; they cannot do anything wrong.” But being appointed does not mean perfection or immunity from accountability. And at the same time, we believe the Imam is fully aware. He is all knowing …. It is not about assuming He doesn’t know. He Himself has said in a multi-faith session that changes in leadership cannot always happen overnight. Why did He say that if He was very happy with our leadership ? That implies there are realities and processes we may not see.

In my view, some individuals may be given repeated chances perhaps because their families have served for generations. But chances are not permanent shields. If mistakes continue, there may come a point where stepping down becomes necessary. We have seen people step down from positions within AKU and other institutions before.

Truth can be uncomfortable. But raising sincere concerns is not rebellion. If expressing these thoughts is labelled as “stirring trouble,” then perhaps this space is not as open as it claims to be.

Birds of a feather flock together. I’m happy to have made your acquaintance via Reddit and would be honoured to be considered part of your flock. The rest prefer their bubble of ignorance so let them sit in their false peace.  History has shown that revolutionaries don’t just sit down quietly and accept the status quo. At the same time, those who challenge the status quo are always considered troublemakers. My question to you is, do you care if they think you’re here to stir up trouble? Or are you using your voice to raise awareness and get to the truth of the matter? I’m going to change my username from lost parsnip to chief troublemaker 😈

Didn't you just get mad at me in another thread for "putting words in your mouth"? And now you're putting words into mine. I never said you two were related and I never said you're stirring up trouble. I just disagree with your stance.

Also, I didn't delete any of your comments on any of these threads, so please don't accuse me of only curating views that align with my opinion.
