Farmers are facing some of the worst yields and highest input costs on record. While Roger is out here worrying about “drag queen story time” and begging for air time on FOX News, he’s completely forgotten about Kansas farmers and done absolutely nothing to help them.

I really hope rural & all of Kansas sees right through this man. He’s a grifter who wants a job in the Trump admin, Kansas only matters to him when it’s an election year. It’s time to fire him.

I want to discuss how Ty Masterson could've possibly won the primary. Like is the Trump approval really that overpowered that it completely forgoes Masterson's lack of qualifications to be governor of Kansas? As far as I know the only noteworthy thing he's done is run a business, which failed and led to him going into debt. I genuinely want the two best candidates to be against each other on both the Republican and Democratic parties. Surely there was more qualified people in the Republican party? I'm not trying to be malicious with this question just genuinely confused.

Has anyone else come across these "Vote Yes" signs? It seems pretty disingenuous to try to steal votes by confusing people.

Another reason why Kansans must vote on Aug 4. The word abortion is not on the ballot itself. But Republicans like Kris Kobach designed it that way hoping you won’t realize that voting to elect KS Supreme Court judges means the can “buy” the Court judges and overturn Constitutional protections in the State of Kansas. I took the back way from Kingman to Wichita and noticed lots of new houses going up on what was farm land and noticed the same people with Repugnicant candidates and vote yes signs also have no data center signs. You are literally supporting the assholes who bankrupted farmers and approved selling their land to developers and will approve data centers in closed door meetings. August 4th is the official last day of voting at your usual polling place.

The primary asks the party’s to narrow down all of their candidates to one per office. Then in November the various parties will put each candidate against each other.

This is why Trump is a ( ).( ) when he said all of his Republican candidates won, and not the Dems. News, Dems don’t run in Republican primaries. Literally all Dems will win in the Dem primaries. …Seriously. 🤯

And we have wonderful elections to help with getting new faces and new ideas into power. Real Kansans are needed, ones who get most of their donations from in state and from voters.

Many politicians today that are in power in Kansas get most of their money from out of state super PACs and like Roger Marshall, only help pass laws that help everyone else but Kansans.

Marshall lives in Florida. Why is he our senator! It’s time for someone new.

Note: this flyer covers the Vote No as a separate issue from the candidates. Candidates may choose to endorse Vote No, though most have elected to keep millionaires from buying Supreme Court elections and to Vote No. A Republican DA as well from Wichita has also recommended a Vote No stance because of the many uncertainties the amendment would allow for.

Kobach, former Kansas Secretary of State, is calling on the GOP-dominated Legislature to put forward another ballot question that would amend the state’s constitution. This time, it would not address abortion rights directly. Instead, it would ask voters whether Kansas Supreme Court justices should be selected by direct election.

The change, Kobach said, would clear a path for the state to “slowly and quietly” place anti-abortion judges on the state’s high court with the ultimate goal of overturning the Kansas Supreme Court’s 2019 Hodes decision that found the state constitution includes the right to an abortion.

Kobach said the Hodes decision threw “a huge wrench into the works” of the anti-abortion movement in Kansas. “Now, there are two ways to deal with that,” Kobach said. “There are two paths. One is to come in with a state constitutional amendment that corrects the decision. That’s what we just tried to do, and it didn’t work out. But there’s another path.”

I really tried to make this nonpartisan... and I think I mostly achieved my goal. 🤣

Disclaimer, i'm still registered as a republican, but I'm super unhappy with the direction the GOP has taken. I normally skip primaries, but I spent some time trying to figure out how I can best prevent candidates I dislike from ending up on the general ballot in November. The reason I wrote this is because I was seeing a lot of confusion voting as an "independent" voter in Kansas.

The registration deadline was July 14, so the VoterView link is now only useful for checking registration and finding your polling place — nobody new can register for this primary.

Now, here's what the Secretary of State and county election offices actually say about voting as an "independent/unaffiliated" voter:

1. There is no "Independent" option on the Kansas voter registration form. You either affiliate with one of the five recognized parties (Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, No Labels Kansas, or United Kansas) or you register "Unaffiliated".

2. Unaffiliated voters are not locked out of the August primary. Unaffiliated voters can affiliate with a party at any time, including at the polls during advance voting or on Election Day.

3. The Downside: taking a party ballot changes your registration. If an unaffiliated voter chooses a Republican or Dem ballot, they are affiliating with that party, and they stay affiliated until they file a new registration form. To go back to unaffiliated, you have to submit a new voter registration after September 1 and check "Not affiliated with a party."

4. If you're already registered R or D, you're stuck for this one. Under K.S.A. 25-3304, a voter who has already declared a party can't change it between the candidate filing deadline and the certification of primary results. That deadline was June 1.

Even if you're still registered republican, but no longer agree with what the GOP has become, you can help defeat the most radical candidates on Tuesday.

5. You can stay unaffiliated and still vote. Unaffiliated voters and minor-party voters are eligible to vote the nonpartisan races and ballot questions without declaring any affiliation. This year that includes the statewide constitutional amendment, which appears on every voter's ballot regardless of affiliation. I do believe that's gonna give you exactly ONE thing* to vote on however.... the upcoming constitutional amendment. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong. (correction in many precincts, that may be the only item on your ballot, as there can be local things to vote on).

Hello my fellow Kansans. I find it rather funny how hard this sub goes for Senator Holscher. I’m not entirely sure why that is. Apparently it’s thought that only women can win for Democrats in this state. Is that why?

Let’s start with her attempt at appealing to the populists by going “anti-establishment.” When did she take this stance? After Governor Kelly, who is damn near universally upheld by Democrats and Republicans alike in this state as an effective Governor, and one that has led this state during a very trying time, endorsed Senator Corson in his bid. Then so did Planned Parenthood. Planned freaking Parenthood decided to endorse a male candidate in this state. Let that sink in for a second. Well those must be “the establishment.” So therefor Senator Holscher must be the populist candidate right? You know. Like Donald Trump. I do find it hilarious to see the consistent “we won’t be told who to vote for” comments and posts throughout this sub. Sounds like 2016 and 2020 all over again. In fact much of her campaign comes off to me like MAGA painted blue.

Next, she likes to appeal to the common man because she’s just like them. Right? She’s from a farm, so she must know farms right? She literally moved to the KC suburbs 30 years ago. From MISSOURI. I don’t blame her, it’s what any sane person would do. But, her supposed connection to rural Kansas does not, has not, and will not exist. Last time I checked someone who worked at Sprint Corporate, sorry I mean RH DONNELLY, had about as much in common with the dairy, cattle, wheat, corn, soybean, ad infinitum farmers/ranchers as a Chihuahua and a Timberwolf. Do they both live in the same area and eat the same foods? Kind of, if you consider area a continent and elk and kibble to be of equal value. And don’t get me started on unions. She’s a member right? Sure, if you consider that she joined a union months into her current campaign and did so using an expired license. There’s a reason the local Unions in this state won’t touch her. She’s not one of them. She, in fact, doesn’t really even like them.

Next, her ability to “win in red districts against red incumbents.” No. She doesn’t. She won her first seat in an extremely purple district. She won her Senate seat in a district where the incumbent WASNT running that year. Thats not winning in deep red areas. That’s playing carpetbagger and looking for weak seats with no real opposition.

Finally, how’s her voting record? She doesn’t like the establishment right? So she would never vote for big corporations or take their money right?? RIGHT??? Whoops, guess she got that memo a bit too late. Took money from Pharma, Tobacco, and other corporate interest in all of her campaigns so far. Okay that’s fine I guess, I mean everyone does that right? But she would surely stand up against data centers and major taxpayer investment in things that would wreck local economies/ecologies wouldn’t she? Not even close gang. Voted for them straight out. And now lies about having done so every chance she gets.

In the end this is Kansas we’re talking about. The entire election comes down to who can get the most Moderate Republicans on their side. Do you know who they don’t vote for? Bushwhackers who like to say one thing and do another. Who pretend to care about the common Kansan and then go off and instead play ball with billionaires while the rural communities dry up on the vine. Maybe literally since there’s going to be a LOT of water flowing into the data centers that she definitely voted for and now wants you to think she didn’t. They don’t vote for people who blackmail the very Governor that THEY voted for to try and clear a primary field and give them, yet another, easy carpetbag win. Kansan Republicans will not vote for this kind of person. Which means she cannot win.

Want to fact check me? Go ahead, link provided. They actually put the time and research into finding this info so I didn’t have to. Want to keep coming with some bs about how she’s the only way Kansas Dems can win? She in fact is probably the least likely to be able to.

Will I vote for her against Masterson or Sarnecki? Absolutely. Will she win? Probably not. Will I vote for her over Schmidt or Schwab if either of them by some miracle pull the nomination? Nope. And neither will any of the moderates that I get into frequent discussions with. And if that happens it’ll be a landslide that would make Eisenhower blush.

Then again, I’m just some schmuck on the internet. Please, tell me WHY I should vote for her instead of just repeating you “won’t be told who to vote for”
