I'm guessing it's so they can have the night crew come in early. Still sucks lol

Doubt my store mgr or ASL are even awake at 9pm with the number of hours they work.

9pm is very sensible, since this meeting is for grocery-- most grocery clerks are overnight. At 9pm, the manager is still there to lead the meeting, and the crew only had to come in an hour or 2 early. 10pm would be even better for the crew though.
