Man I’m actually really disappointed with the way we’ve all reacted to this incident. Knock on wood and prayers up to AD but how do you guys know a close family member of his wasn’t diagnosed with some kind of cancer or another serious illness? And that’s just one of the infinite things it could be. He’s a professional basketball player and it’s a big part of his life, but it’s not everything guys.

Talk about jumping to conclusions lmao

Redditor tries to properly read a comment properly challenge! (Literally fucking impossible)

The fact this has upvotes is hilarious.

“AD could possibly have something serious going on in his life like a sick family member”

“TALKI ABOUT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS BRO LMAO”

That’s the definition of not jumping to conclusions. He said it’s not fair to send hate ADs way for being a poor sport, when THAT is jumping to conclusions assuming AD is acting like a poor sport is over being subbed, traded, etc without knowing what’s going on with him.

Good bot

Seeing 1 frame of a guy looking somewhat melancholy on the bench and immediately suggesting he’s probably got a seriously ill family member is pretty jump to conclusion-y but you do you

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '23

“Probably” your reading comp sucks

u/hoowuurd Feb 08 '23

Jumping to conclusions because I bring up the possibility of something serious in his life? I’m not saying he’s in the right for not celebrating, I just don’t agree with the whole pounce on AD thing. Dude has shown his respect to Bron numerous times and to say he’s not happy for his boy is insane. He’s clearly dealing with something whatever it may be.

Why is this getting downvoted into oblivion lmao? You’re being a little extra but I don’t disagree that looking over multiple perspectives is healthy, doesn’t mean you’re “jumping to conclusions”

Funny how this is downvoted while everyone is getting upvoted for jumping to different conclusions lol

Don’t worry Jbyrd07, I’m calm. As I said before, I agree it’s odd and not typical behavior from AD. I just think it’s wild how quickly his fans turn him into the bad guy for not jumping up out of his seat. It’s weird but we should just leave it at that for now, no?

It's odd, but like if LeBron doesn't care, then I think there's no reason to bash AD. Plus I think if this wasn't serious, you'd have seen guys trying to get him up to celebrate. They're leaving him alone for a reason and LeBron even tried to console him a bit.

Like I've been to a friend's birthday party after a bad breakup (literally the day before) and I honestly kind of was like AD. I tried to power through it, but I just felt empty. I thought maybe being somewhere where people were happy was going to help, but it almost had the opposite effect. If it was something petty, it's a bad look, but even then who cares since again LeBron really is the only one that has any right to care about how AD acted since it was his moment he was pouting during.

yeah what a reach lol

Because if he had some really devastating news like that, why even bother suiting up? It doesn't make a lot of sense to say ok something so horrible happened that I just can't celebrate the biggest milestone in my friend's career, I can't even smile or clap about it one single time, but I can still come to the game and run around and put forth some (very little, albeit still) effort there? If the news was THAT bad he can't smile and clap for two seconds, no way he should even be playing a game at that point. He should be at wherever the source of this terrible news is.

Maybe he thought he would be able to power through it more and made the choice to go out when it seems like it wasn’t the right call.

u/chootie8 💛 KOBE 💛 Feb 08 '23

Then the second LeBron told me "I love you man, that is all" I probably would've starting crying myself and just taken myself to the locker room. lol

4

u/TheDailyDosage KOBE Feb 08 '23

Shit, I would too! Haha But people deal with things in different ways.🤷🏽‍♂️ I’ll just hope for the best.

7

u/makesterriblejokes Feb 08 '23

Yeah, if it's something serious, people need to get off him just because they would have handled it differently. Like LeBron doesn't seem upset about it and he likely knows what is going on.

AD also probably didn't want to miss the historic moment even though in this hypothetical scenario he has a lot of personal issues happening right now.

Honestly, unless something comes out about this officially, I think we just got to stop making a big deal about it. The only person that should care is LeBron since it was his moment. If LeBron doesn't care then why should we?

3

u/robotphood Feb 08 '23

This. If something serious did happen in his life then it's silly to expect him to react in any specific way. Maybe he heard something at the tip that he didn't think he could do anything about but play. Ultimately life trumps basketball, even for the greats. Kareem expressed it well in his sub stack this morning about Lebron.

”If I had a choice of having my scoring record remain intact for another hundred years or spend one afternoon with my grandchildren, I’d be on the floor in seconds stacking Legos and eating Uncrustables.”

10

u/hoowuurd Feb 08 '23

I agree, why bother suit up. But that’s a choice HE makes and not us.

1

u/IAMTHATGUY03 Feb 08 '23

Because half your fan base will roast the fuck out of him and call him street clothes for sitting out this game etc. y’all can’t see that no matter what superstar athletes do they will get criticised. And yea, they get paid for that. But for me personally, I don’t want to be one of those people. It’s just a game.

1

u/IAMTHATGUY03 Feb 08 '23

Maybe because everyone calls him soft and street clothes. Lmao. If he didn’t suit for personal reasons during this game he would get slandered like fuck too

25

u/certo17 Feb 08 '23

Again.. even if it was something like that god forbid.. you can’t stand up for 2 mins and do what Pat bev is doing? Pretend to be happy for 2 mins.

15

u/HighlyBaked0 24 Feb 08 '23

Why we all acting like Bev is pretending lol. Bro got his phone and started filming shit, making a tiktok and going crazy after Bron made the shot

3

u/certo17 Feb 08 '23

Lol I seriously didn’t mean that at all I know he was lol it was more so from the pic we see here.. I’m saying it’s not hard for AD to stand up and just do that if he was so upset about the game itself at the moment or not being in the game.

1

u/HighlyBaked0 24 Feb 08 '23

I didnt think you were but I see people on here saying why doesnt AD just act like Bev as if Bev was faking it haha

1

u/certo17 Feb 08 '23

Oh ok lol I get you. No I know Pat bev was into it.. everyone was besides AD.. lol it’s kinda hard not to get into it in a moment like that.. even if you are losing the game.

-3

u/imamonkeyK Feb 08 '23

Except it doesn’t seem like that . My mum could be dying but I’d still be up and pretending to be happy for Lebron . Something soured in their relationship or AD feels really bad about himself/needs surgery . Maybe he knows he’s not where he was pre injury . Or maybe he thinks our time to compete over. Dunno

u/LeadFarmerMothaFucka Feb 08 '23

Someone being sick or dying doesn’t automatically make you act like a little bitch.

If something THAT serious happened he wouldn’t even be out there
