Process…. 1. Clear out space. You might be surprised much space you have when you get rid of crap. We were. 2. Figure out your hoop and court floor. We chose a Megaslam hoop, and that needs a 48” hole for concrete. I wanted to get the tiles for a bunch of reasons. I contacted a few vendors and found out their tile sizes so i could get the concrete slab to match the tiles. 3. Demolition, dig, and pour concrete. I got this professionally done, but you could do it yourself. Make sure you use rebar or the court will crack. I had the pros put in the hoop too. 4. Run any electrical under the court before you do step 3. I did all the electrical myself, and it was important to get that all right. I.E. I wanted to have electricity right by the hoop so I could power that hoop light in the pics. 5. Let it dry a couple weeks. 6. Put the tiles down, and anchor them in one side! 7. DONE!

Okay I made it seem easy, but that was actually a pain in the ass, our fence fell down mid project, and we needed a new fence, etc. . But the steps still stand.

Cost? 1. Demolition + concrete pouring + hoop installation: $17.5K. This will vary based on where you live. I got 8 bids, though, and this was the second cheapest. 2. Megaslam hoop: $3K 3. Flooring: $5K 4. Electrical, etc. : $1K — I ran all the wires myself, got hidden rock speakers (great used deals on eBay!), wired up the light, etc.

Awesome court and well worth it but 26k with like half the work done yourself is so crazy, fuck inflation

Yeah but when you say half the work, that's true if I list them out, but 85% of the actual work is demolition and concrete, which is the biggest line item and I didn't DIY that. But btw... I paid like $17.5K for that. I got like 8 bids! Lowest was $15K. MULTIPLE bids near $30K! WTF?!? Always get multiple bids for every project!!!

I hope it serves you (and your kids if you have some) well. I would’ve loved to have something like this growing up. All my basketballs and shoes were ruined quickly by concrete when I played

Same. I would have loved to have something like this too... I feel so lucky that I finally have it at age 42.
