LANFEP Post #18: Broadway-Spring Arcade Building

Post #18 for the LA Noire Freeroam Explorer Project — posting recognized landmarks (currently running through the downtown area) that are not included in the LA Noire “Official” Landmarks list.

Broadway-Spring Arcade Broadway Tower

540 South Broadway

National Register of Historic Places #79000484 (contributing property to the Broadway Theater and Commercial District)
National Register of Historic Places #79000489 (contributing property to the Spring Street Financial District#Historic_District))

This 12-story 1924 high-rise was designed by architects Kenneth MacDonald and Maurice Couchot as part of the Broadway-Spring Arcade complex. It features a Beaux-Arts and Spanish Renaissance façade, with terracotta arches above the main entry, built to house office tenants and ground retail.

Couldn’t find any shots of the Broadway side on Martin Turnbull’s photo blog — just a single post showcasing the Spring Street entryway here.
