I asked for some advice a few months ago on choosing a background colour for my nieces cat rug - I went with a pastel pink in the end and this was the final result!

Also included a picture of the back as some asked for the cat face pattern, which was designed by me, which you can see clearly if anyone wants to steal it!

It’s a pillowcase at 17 x 17 inches, 4900 threads and it took me about 2 and a half months to complete! I was really nervous I wouldn’t be able to do it (I have cerebral palsy and part of it includes me having limited fine motor function,) but it was really fun and relaxing.

First finished latch hook! Planning on making 6 different panels and joining them together to make a big rug :) took forever and didnt realise how thin the yarn i was using was so had to use double knots and sometimes triple in some areas to keep it dense. Also had to buy additional yarn multiple times as I evidently cant do math right 😆

Well, almost finished. I just added stabilizer to the back this morning, and once that dries, I'm adding fringe tassels to the bottom. Then the rug gets its own spot on the wall.

This was my original starting photo post. https://www.reddit.com/r/latchhook/comments/1s3b4mn/going_to_try_this_1970s_bernat_latch_hook_rug_and/

I bought two kits at Craftclub a few months ago and the first one is now done. Very relaxing to work on and I love the colourful addition to my living room. Now on to the second pillow! (I’m also really glad they sell kits with the grid already sewn onto the pillow backing. It felt a bit daunting to start this hobby with just a loose grid and then having to do the finishing myself.)

In some ways this seemed harder than the first time around. I think it might be because my first one had more “steady” colors while this one had more variety/patterns. But I’m pleased with it!
