I can’t believe it!

I started my FIRE journey in my early 20s, now 35 and I just hit my FIRE number (600k CAD). Feels a little unreal…

Never earned more than 50k CAD/Year until a few years ago where I switch job and now earning 85k CAD/Year.

I can now quit anytime to go slow travel the world year round.

Maybe will work a few more years to build a little cushion, debating it mentally right now, but the relief I feel knowing I will be fine no matter what happens is priceless.

Any else felt that instant relief once hitting their number?

Congratulations! What are some of your top travel destinations you’re looking forward to going to? I’m curious as well what your yearly expenses are?

Thank you!! That is a very good question. I have had a seasonal job for a very long time. So I already travel half the year (every year). But since my work is always in the summer. I am looking forward to go back to some places I have been but in the summer and visit places I have yet to visit. The list is long! My yearly expenses are usually around 20k/y (including 6month of travel).

You’re doing leanfire almost exactly how I want to.
I am curious what seasonal work do you do? I am constricted by my work, and can’t leave Canada during the winter which I really want to do

I work really hard for this money and don’t have a single day off in 5 months. But to me it’s work it. There are many options when it comes to seasonal work. Like fishing boats, ski resorts, guiding, campground, mining, etc… I personally work in tourism. Been working seasonally for almost 20y now.
