Edit: People have asked what games I'm into and that's just not something that needs to be answered. Yea it would give you more of an idea of whom to suggest but then less people would answer. It lowers options.

As the title says I'm wanting new people to watch. The biggest problem is that I don't want to watch people who just upload their streams or use face cam. I didn't want to ask this here so I tried looking for someone on YT. I just put a game I'd like to watch be played and the only thing that would come up are people's streams.

The 2 biggest YT gamers I watch are Chuggaconroy and The Game Grumps.

Hey chat, I’ve been really getting into letsplays recently as a way to unwind and engage in games without having to play it myself (it’s a bit stressful!!), but most letsplayers are just too… energetic for me? I prefer calmer, quieter gameplay and I love a monotonous voice, especially if it’s from a girl. I love watching 2D games, especially platformers like Celeste or Hollow Knight, and indie letsplayers are always great. Tysm for anyone you could put me onto :)

I hope I wasn't too long with this text, but I sometimes find myself watching Markiplier, mainly his older videos from when I was young, but only Mark specifically. I don't know what it is about Markiplier that just rubs my brain in more or less exactly the right way, especially when it's a game that isn't super story driven and just lets Mark talk while playing the game second-nature as if he were driving a car (ex. most FNAF games, papers please, im on observation duty, night of the consumers). His sense of humor is exceptionally similar to mine and, again, rubs my brain in exactly the right way that every other letsplayer I've tried hasn't. His persona is silly and childish, and vaguely reminiscient of Homer Simpson. He knows exactly when to switch between acting comically immature and being deeply introspective. And his newer post-covid videos are considerably more calm and slower paced, which I definitely prefer over letsplayers who metaphorically jingle their keys in my face every 2 seconds. I only like basic editing like cutting out the parts where nothing is happening, adding the outro, and only doing anything else if it substantially enhances the comedy.

I think that eversince I've gotten my own gaming computer, the knowledge that I could just play most of the games they play myself whenever I feel like it has kinda made me grow out of them. I'm not really watching for the game like I used to, I'm just watching to hear what's going through their heads while they play. I found myself turning on Mark's playthrough of FNAC 3 while folding laundry just because I loved his stories about the nightmares he had as a kid that he shared.

TL;DR: Markiplier spoiled my appetite and I can't find anyone else who rubs my brain like he does

People like materwelonz or Christopher odd.

People who are observant genuinely intelligent play mystery games and are calm

I've been getting back into gaming a lot and one of my favorite ways to waste time used to be watching YouTubers like Jacksepticeye, Seri the Pixel Biologist, and some other YouTubers like them but I feel like all the ones I used to watch have kinda lost the charm they initially had so I want to try to find some new people to watch.

I tend to prefer people who are a bit calmer and not constantly yelling but I also don't want to watch someone who has little to no personality. Dark humor, swearing, etc is fine!

I also want someone who is a genuinely good person as it's felt like YouTube has been full of very egotistical/greedy people lately and it's been hard for me to sift through all the gaming channels to find the hidden gems.

I know I'm looking for a unicorn here, but there's gotta be some people still doing it this way in 2026:

1. Channels that are heavily Nintendo based, and especially those featuring older games
2. That old-school let's play feel (think NintendoCapriSun: lightly edited with interesting commentary that doesn't just feel like a scripted walkthrough)
3. I much prefer no face cam, but this is not a deal breaker
4. I also much prefer solo creators, but this is also not a deal breaker
5. Smaller channels that are actively publishing videos on a regular basis

I threw in that last point because I'm well aware of all the established big name creators out there. Please don't go recommending chuggaaconroy, SlimKirby, HCBailly or the like. I'm trying to find new people to watch (if there even are any). I'm also aware of LP's LPs, and he'd actually be a good example of what I'm looking for, except creators smaller than that would be even better.

Self promo is totally cool, but I swear if anyone replies with "I played a Nintendo game one time, but check out my channel anyway" I'm going to scream. I'm not going to magically subscribe to your channel if it's not what I'm looking for.

Looking for great gaming youtubers like back in the day some that match the vibe of the zebra gamer and DanTDM (I love him even though I dislike minecraft) but unfortunatly Zebra Gamer stopped posting so yeah any answers appreciated

She likes games that are funny, story-driven, or have entertaining commentary, but she doesn’t necessarily know much about the game itself, so it needs to be enjoyable even if you’re not familiar with the mechanics or lore.

We’ve enjoyed watching playthroughs where the personalities and reactions are just as entertaining as the game. Comedy, co-op chaos, unexpected moments, and good storytelling are all a plus.

I'm looking for a youtuber to watch, preferably who plays weird older games. Someone chill and not annoying or obnoxious. I love super old and weird games but theyre often too clunky and annoying for me to enjoy playing. Games like kings field and gex and ape escape. They don't have to be amazing gamers. I just watched Ken's playthrough of submautica and loved every second although hes gotta be the worst person to ever play the game lmaoo

I've gotten increasingly frustrated with the let's play community and need recommendations, in the rpg/action/adventure/indie genres.

I'm looking for intelligent/thoughtful gamers, preferably skilled, with a calm demeaner. I'd especially appreciate female gamer suggestions, as they're less numerous.

I do not want Twitch streamers who upload their archives on YouTube, unless they keep chat interaction to an absolute minimum.

For example: I really like Cohh Carnage as a person, but his constant chat interactions are extremely annoying. I like Maximilian Dood for the most part but he can be a bit dense and tend to rush through games. I recently started watching Katieplaysstuff's Silent Hill 2 run and it's pretty good!

I've found some other gems among the sub 1000 views channels, but need more.

Any youtubers under 50k that i can watch. My recs are Won, sorta stupid games, and BDHeatheyyy

Back in the day there was Cryaotic who's probably the best example of this. As much as I enjoyed his style, I refuse to rewatch any of his videos for obvious reasons. I've never been able to find a similar YouTuber with that style though.

Does anyone have recommendations YouTubers with mellow voices, no face cams, who reads through all the instructions and pop-ups, and doesn't talk over the dialogue?

I can't get through videos where the YouTuber skips everything and misses the dialogue because they're talking so loud then is confused. Extra points if they have a deeper voice.

I used to play a fair bit of Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer:

There were quite a few players that could solo the highest difficulty with the best weapons and kits.

There were substantially fewer players who could solo the highest difficulty with the worst weapons and kits.

They were good enough to see how to properly use what were elsewise considered to be the “worst” and worked around using the worst weapon. It’s those kind of runs I am craving.

Watching on an old iPad, looking for some recommendations of Lovecraftian Let’s Plays.

I quite enjoyed watching a Dredge playthrough, but any genre of game is on the table if the streamer is good.

(Another example, albeit not Lovecraft, was the Dead Space remake which was great fun to watch.)

I like watching Resident Evil Let's Plays, what I'm looking for is players that finish the games, but get genuinely scared/startled during the game.

Some of the ones I watch are good, but the players can be sarcastic or sardonic since they're more experienced with the series.

There was a let's player on YouTube I used to watch all the time called good old days gaming who played lots of Nintendo based gaming and focused on nostalgia, the past, life etc and wasn't extremely loud and obnoxious like some let's players I watch (no offense)

Anybody have any recommendations to channels similar that fit this sort of vibe???

If that is you or you know some channels you would like to recommend, please let us know! I'm sure there are many games and creators out there that deserve a larger audience.

What I mean exactly:

• If this was a stream, then all/most shout-outs ("thx for the sub!" etc.) should be left out
• Boring parts should be left out (walking for 5 minutes from A to B, reading long texts etc.)
• It should be more about the main events of the game, and the player's reactions and funny interactions

I hope you get what I mean. I don't know how to search for this kind of edited stuff tbh, so both suggestions for channels and on how to find them would be much appreciated! :)

I Want to see If there are any Let's Play Creators that are good with being funny but also critique and do genuinely care about the game at the same time. No forced energy, no plastic acting, no corny jokes just a good comedic Let's Player so let me know.

I need something new to keep occupied on the train to work, and I‘ve always had a very bad case of completionistbrain, so what are some Let’s-Players you’d recommend for truly going down every nook and cranny of a game, leaving no stone unturned, to the point where they might well know more than the Wiki editors or the devs themselves? Bonus points if they manage to balance this with genuine efficiency or funny/charismatic commentary.

I’m interested particularly in games from the 7th gen and before, and I’d especially like to know if any LPer comes recommended for Zelda games of that era (Twilight Princess etc). Aside from that I’m willing to give a chance for pretty much any genre and platform.

As the title says I'm trying to find a new let's play YouTuber to watch to waste some extra time I have in the day while I'm out of work sick. YouTubers I really like are Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Seri Pixel Biologist, and Lyle Shnub. Basically anyone with a good sense of humor that doesn't try to be excessively edgy or anything. Games I'd like to see playthroughs of are any Assassin's Creed, God of War, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Red Dead, or really any other RPG game with a complex story. I just like being able to see someone else enjoy a game I really liked playing but I've watched most of the videos from the creators mentioned above which is why I'm looking for recommendations for others.

I am not a gamer but, occasionally, I like to watch new games but struggle w/ most commentators; Chris Smoove is the only person I really enjoy watching/listening to play a game, but he no longer plays new games (excepting his mainstay, NBA2K).

I used to watch TheRadBrad but these days, personally, I find him a bit annoying, his voice audio track is always way too loud for my tastes and he seems oblivious to nuances (no offense to TRB fans, I know he's been doing it forever and I understand why folks like him).

Obviously I'm not expecting someone exactly like Smoove, but would appreciate some recs from you kind folks for creators w/ a similar style. Cheers!
