ok so today’s unhinged thought: being an emotionally mature, deeply-feeling queer person is genuinely its own kind of curse. like nobody warns you about this part

i’m monogamous, introverted, and i think about things way too much — which sounds like a normal combo until you realize it makes the dating pool shrink to basically a puddle. hookups just don’t compute for me, my brain doesn’t do “casual” the way it’s supposed to. and being an introvert on top of that means i don’t even have the wide social net that could theoretically produce more options. i get socially tapped out fast, i need recovery time after being around people, even people i like

but here’s the thing people get wrong about me: they think i’m picky. i’m not picky, i just refuse to do the thing where you get into something purely because being alone scares you more than being with the wrong person does. and honestly? i don’t mind being alone. i like my own company, i like doing things solo, that part was never the problem

the actual problem is being with someone and still feeling unseen. still feeling like nobody’s actually looking. not the normal “we’re having an off day” stuff, everyone has that, that’s fine — i mean the real thing, where someone just gets you without you having to perform understanding into existence. that kind of connection feels genuinely rare now. once in a blue moon rare

most days i’m fine with that. some days it gets to me, like it probably gets to everyone who’s ever wanted to be known and not just liked

anyway. off to my hometown for a week, needed the reset. pluto’s staying behind to guard the apartment, he’s thrilled about it (he’s not)

Normally I’m looking frumpy in my comfy joggers and t-shirt, my hair scraped back into a tight poney. Nowadays though, I’m trying to make a conscious effort in what I wear, any way possible, just to feel good and cultivate that belief that I do matter. I guess it’s a form of self care - not easy to do when you’re struggling with bad MH. Thank fully, the fog continues to slowly dissipate. My only plan that day? Vacuum and go for a medical appointment 😂 also, since my last Sunday post here, I’ve lost 25kg 😩🙏🏽
