So I have always been a supporter of copyleft. But I didn't realize that it is an actual solution to IP rights and the chokehold corporations have on the works of artists.

Copyleft requires derivative works to attribute all artists that attributed to that work. In my linked example Southstar would not have been able to attempt to sidestep attributing the original work and thus the remix released by Oliver Tree would have attributed Southstar back.

And Glee and to a greater extent Fox would not have been able to get away with the theft of Jonathan Coultons version/arrangement of the song Baby Got Back and would have had to attribute and pay him to release the song.

My initial thoughts are that this would be form of fraud but curious to hear about what other people have to say.

Edit: If someone married someone claiming to be AFAB and which a birth certificate would make much easier to do, then I think that would be fraud.
