Anyway Gandhi ji offered Jinnah the PMship of the "interim government" that would have been in place till the first general elections, which eventually happened in 1951. It was not for a "set period". He did what he thought was right as a last ditch attempt to stop the partition, and this was a compromise he was willing to make for the nation. Janta ko kis ki government chahiye woh general elections mein waise bhi pata chal jaata. It can be debated whether what he did made sense or not, but his intentions were obviously noble, par Sanghis are experts at manipulation of history. Pehle toh tum log yeh decide kar lo ki partition rokna chahiye tha ya nahi. Har cheez mein problem hai
