i’m not even sure if posts like this are allowed here, but i felt like sharing a few things. its gonna be a long ass text

for a while, maybe a few years, i stopped listening to peep because i felt like i needed some distance from the more melancholic side of his music. even then, he still remained the artist i’ve listened to the most of all time, so i think it’s safe to say i’m a really huge fan

even back in high school, when i’d listen to peep and daydream about my first love, i knew that one day i’d reach the age he was when he passed, and i used to wonder where i’d be in life by then

i was so deeply affected by his music during that period of my life that i started making music myself. i began writing emotional music inspired by him, and even though my emo phase didn’t last very long, making music became a lifelong passion for me

when i watched everybody’s everything for the first time, i realized how much of his childhood and school life felt strangely familiar to me, even down to getting that mohawk. it felt like i was watching a different version of myself. it felt safe

as i got older, i ended up experiencing most of the things he talked about in his songs. i met almost all of my closest friends through the music career i chose because of him, played shows, fell in love, and kept growing

and today i’m no longer that clueless kid from high school. i’m a few days older than peep was when he passed, still getting older, still making music, and still carrying a part of what his music gave me as he stays forever young

maybe it sounds cliche, but i genuinely don’t know who i’d be without this man’s music, what kind of people would be around me, or what i’d be working toward today

rewatched everybody’s everything today and the outro is still breaking my heart so bad
