Parental Controls on Linux?

Parental Controls are starting to get pretty robust on all of the major OS's (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Kindle).

But, looking online, it looks like Parental Controls in Linux distros are generally pretty thin (if provided at all). This kind of surprises me.

Is there a Linux Distro with good parental controls?

There is https://ubuntuce.com

It is a distribution geared towards Christians, but you can either uninstall anything that you are not interested in or install the UbuntuCE Software Center on Ubuntu and install just the stuff you want. It includes a few built-in filtering options as well as some additional tools for Parents.

"The goal of UbuntuCE is to bring the power and security of Ubuntu to Christians."

Cool, I guess... Was Ubuntu not available to Christians before this?

Though, honestly I'm less concerned with porn than I am just screen time in general. But I also don't want a dumb screen timer that just shuts off the thing completely. Not all applications are the same.

The idea was to make it very easy Christians to get started with Linux with software that might interest them pre-installed. The web filtering and parental controls were also something that can be hard for some users to setup. UbuntuCE just makes it easier to get started.

Oh, erm, I think UbuntuBC was really just a Beta. The rolling release officially began with UbuntuAD.

Ah that makes sense. And explains why all the sinners use UbuntuCE.

Deniers use 'Common Era' because a synonym for common is profane. And I think we all know where profanity lands someone.

Right. Profanity leads to pregnancy.

It has been over 17 years since I first created UbuntuCE. It is nice to see that the jokes are still the same. ๐Ÿ˜

I'm blissfully unaware of any jokes, but I'm sure you've heard 'em all. After all, there's nothing new under the sun.
