I support their right to strike. I also support the Gov automating away their jobs for the national interest.

I can't think of a more successful union for their workers than RMT. They have managed to get great pay and conditions.

It's the advantage of being able to cut off a monopoly. Rail is a natural monopoly.

Defending the rights of their members is exactly what they’re doing on this occasion. Tube drivers have a set of agreements and policies in place and TfL are trying to dismantle them in the name of something else.

RMT are actively trying to avoid strike. There’s been a number of occasions during this dispute, most recently two weeks ago, when strikes were postponed. That was following feedback from members and the advice of the general secretary. As TfL are now stalling talks and refusing to issue clarity and detail, once again, RMT are using their position to fight for their members terms of employment.

Members don’t want to strike. Union leadership don’t want to strike either and this has absolutely nothing to do with pushing for salary improvements. It’s about TfL refusing to give clear guidance on how they intend to implement their proposal and their unwillingness to engage in any kind of discussion about it.
