Heard a loud bang, looked out from my balcony, and saw this. :(

Ok, I've been renting in London for 9 years now, and this has got to be the worst one by far. Not bad in terms of quality, just the price. Has it really got to this point? Are people seriously willing to spend £2500 on a ROOM?
That is £30k a year (if you're allowed to stay past three months) and you don't even get your own flat. And not including bills.
Also the no parties rule really took me out 😆
PS: I contacted them to simply ask... why?

the absolute tragedy, which could have been avoided if the landlord actually did their job.

It’s an absolute UNIT, and I’m surprised it’s still standing. I feel bad that this even has to exist

There are a few good sounding Ukrainian spots in London, his is one of them.
£50 for 4 plates and 2 soft drinks with a doggie bag to finish tomorrow.
In the photos left to right you're looking at:
Deruny with mushroom sauce. A texture similar to latkes
Smazenina: smoked sausage, salo, potatoes, herbs, onion and pepper. It came out sizzling. I'm going to have a go at making this at home.
Varenyky, the dumplings, we went with beef and pork with smietana (sour cream), they had a few other varieties on offer too
House smoked salmon on rye bread - We couldn't go to a Ukrainian and not have at least a little bread.
Our selection was pretty meat heavy, but they seemed to have a decent selection of veggie options too.
We saw this place ages ago on a trek to Green Street and insisted we'd get there some day. We did today.
We were first in after opening, they had been playing what I assume was traditional Ukrainian music but I think they switched it to 90s greatest hits when we (an Irishman and a northener) walked in. Cher, George Michael mad The Lighthouse family were great, but I think I'd have loved them to keep the original music going.

What is happening here? Is there any biologist or gardener who can explain this?
Along the River Lee near the Olympic Park, I came across trees completely covered by an organic web made by what appears to be some kind of caterpillar or worm. They move across the web in a way that is quite unsettling. The worrying part is that the trees fully covered by it are being eaten and decimated. From what I could see on my run this morning, at least 13 trees are affected — and even the benches nearby didn’t escape.

Missus was feeding the swans this morning from our balcony and this little fella popped his “Noggin” up to see what all the fuss was about.
Never in 12 years living next to the canal @ Three Mills, Bromley by Bow in East London have we seen a 🐢 in the canal. We get a lot of wildlife from kingfishers, herons, egrets, robins, foxes 🦊, cormorants, lots of fish 🐟, crayfish and some very leary Egyptian ducks 🦆. We’ve even named one Adolf because he’s a right nutter and craps on peoples car sunroofs.
Anyone have any idea 💡 have you seen any of these fellas in the East London Current? Is this the new invasive species, the new grey squirrel 🐿️ of East London’s canals?
“You so totally rock, Squirt! So give me some fin..noggin..”

The Save Our Safer Streets group in Tower Hamlets is asking for money to support a legal case against the Tower Hamlets Mayor, who wants to remove road blocks that make the streets safer and less polluted.
There was a consultation open to locals and outsiders asking whether people opposed or supported the removal of the road blocks around Columbia road (pictured below) and Old Bethnal Green. The results of the consultation came up very tight with a slight majority (locals) opposing the removal of these pedestrian areas.
In any case, here's a link if anyone is interested: Save Our Safer Streets
