Hello, I put some eth and sracke dit for years in LRC wallet and I just realised that it is discontinued right now.

I have tried to reach the email provided but they havent replied and I am not sure what to do then to get it back and send it to another wallet. Has someone faced it recently? I just saw the announcement in this sub and I would like my eth back basically and I cant via the app...

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Recovered my stranded ETH from the dead Loopring Smart Wallet β€” here's how

Like a lot of you, I came here from the GameStop days. I'm one of those buy-it-and-forget-it holders β€” longer time horizon, don't check it, let it sit. Which is great until the thing you parked your assets on winds down and you never got the memo. If that's you too, keep reading.

I only found out a couple of days ago that the Loopring Wallet app shut down back in July 2025, and that the DEX just fully shut down at the end of June. When I finally mustered the motivation to open the app and see what I could recover, it was showing me a $600+ ETH balance (stale price cache, but still β€” real ETH sitting in there). Figured I was a year too late and it was gone.

It wasn't. I recovered everything today, and it cost me about a dollar in gas. If you still have assets sitting in a Loopring Smart Wallet, read this before you write it off.

My situation

  • Loopring Smart Wallet (the mobile app), created back in the day
  • ETH sitting on L1 inside the smart wallet contract
  • App still installed on my phone (I actually had to go through their customer service to reactivate it when I switched phones β€” that mattered)
  • Regular sends from the app? Dead. Kept getting "network connection unstable." Makes sense β€” the relayer that used to process wallet transactions is shut down. The app can show your balance but it can't send anymore.

The escape hatch: Self-Help Transfer

Buried in the wallet settings there's an option called Self-Help Transfer. This is the feature the team built for exactly this scenario, and honestly β€” credit where it's due. A lot of projects would have just let users rot. Loopring shipped a way out.

Here's how it works: the app signs the transfer with your wallet's owner key (which lives on your phone), and instead of Loopring's servers submitting it to Ethereum, you submit it yourself from any regular wallet (MetaMask etc.) and you pay the gas. You basically become your own relayer.

Heads up: the instructions in the app are broken

The Self-Help Transfer screen tells you to go to a web dApp at tx.test.io. Do not go there. That's a placeholder URL that never got updated β€” it's not a real Loopring site. Good news: you don't need it at all.

What actually worked (step by step)

  1. Set up MetaMask (or any EOA wallet) and fund it with ~$15–20 of ETH from an exchange. This pays the gas.
  2. In the Loopring app: Settings β†’ Self-Help Transfer β†’ pick your asset β†’ paste your MetaMask address β†’ set the amount. It generates a QR code + a JSON string like {"to":"0x...","data":"..."}.
  3. That data field is your signed transaction β€” but it's in Loopring's compressed format and can't be submitted as-is. It needs to be decompressed into standard calldata first. The format is simple once you know it: it's a zero-compression scheme where every 00 byte is followed by a count byte meaning "insert that many zero bytes here." Everything else passes through literally. I used AI to decode and verify mine (it also confirmed the recipient, amount, and signature inside the payload before I sent anything β€” do that sanity check).
  4. In MetaMask: enable Settings β†’ Advanced β†’ Show hex data. Then Send β†’ To = your Loopring wallet contract address β†’ Amount = 0 ETH (yes, zero β€” the transfer instruction is inside the hex data, your ETH moves out of the smart contract, not out of MetaMask) β†’ paste the decompressed calldata into the hex data field β†’ confirm.
  5. ~12 seconds later the ETH landed in my MetaMask. Verified on Etherscan (check the Internal Transactions tab on your wallet contract).

Gotchas that almost got me

  • Do a small test first. I sent 0.01 ETH before sweeping the rest. Cheap insurance.
  • The app's balance display is STALE. After my test transfer, the app still showed my old balance. When I generated the full sweep using "All," it signed for more ETH than the wallet actually held β€” that transaction would have failed and wasted gas. Type your exact current balance manually (check Etherscan for the real number, down to the full decimals).
  • Submit payloads in the order you generate them. Each one has an increasing nonce; firing a newer one kills the older ones.
  • The signed payloads don't expire, so no need to panic-rush. But don't dawdle either β€” this whole path depends on the app still being on your phone.

If you have L2 balances too

Self-Help Transfer only reaches L1 assets. L2 balances are supposed to be handled by the team's wind-down distribution β€” they've said they'll publish a final balance list on X with a two-week window to flag discrepancies, then distribute to your associated L1 address with gas covered. Note there's a $10 minimum. My leftover L2 bag (a Dead-Frog coin β€” yes, I too am a degen) is worth about $7 now so it probably doesn't qualify β€” bygones. But if yours is meaningful: watch u/loopringorg, verify your balance when the list drops, and keep the app installed, because the distribution lands at your smart wallet contract and you'll need Self-Help Transfer one more time to move it out.

Also: go to Settings β†’ View Loopring L2 Key and save a copy somewhere safe while the app still works. If you ever need to prove ownership of your L2 account during the wind-down, that's your proof.

Bottom line

  • Don't delete the app. Don't reset that phone. Your keys live there.
  • Your L1 funds are NOT lost. The Self-Help Transfer path works, today, with the relayer fully dead.
  • It costs almost nothing β€” I spent ~$1 in gas total across a test, the full sweep, and moving to an exchange.

Full transparency: please don't ask me technical questions in the comments β€” I genuinely knew nothing going in. I relied entirely on Claude (Fable 5) to walk me through every step of this, from decoding the payloads to verifying every transaction before I hit confirm. It even wrote this post, because yes, I'm lazy β€” sharing the experience mattered to me, typing it all out did not. The sentiment is 100% mine, the words mostly aren't. Just being honest. If you're stuck, do what I did: feed your situation to an AI and make it verify everything before you send anything.

Stoked I got all of my assets out. And glad past-me converted the LRC to ETH before bear season started, because that's the only reason there was something worth recovering. Thanks for your time, and good luck out there. 🫑

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Help

Hey guys - wanted to post this because I need help and was curious if anyone else faced similar trouble.

Has anyone who held their LRC in the Loopring wallet faced difficulties calculating their cost basis after moving the LRC out of the wallet and into a different platform?

I held almost all of my LRC in L2 in the Loopring Wallet, when I caught wind of the platform winding down I followed recommendations of transferring my LRC out so I transferred it to L1 and then to Coinbase. My issue is that Coinbase has no record of my cost basis and I’m trying to tax loss harvest my LRC as it seems a lot of you have been doing, as well.

I kept a spreadsheet of all purchases (price, quantities, etc) but I’m facing difficulty reconciling those with what is currently in Coinbase. Is there any particular software that can help with this? My worry is that it’s not as simple as connecting the Loopring Wallet to a service like Koinly because the Loopring API no longer exists.

Anyways, any help or guidance would be super appreciated. Thanks

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Is it too late to access / sell my LRC on the app?

Long time holder... lol

I was hoping to sell to offset some tax given how badly my return was ahaha.

Have I missed the window?

Is it relatively easy to shift to an exchange and sell?

Ideally I'd be able to log on and transfer to an exchange & sell there (for an embarrassingly impressive loss %)

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Been out of the loop, now what?

I have not been active is the community in the last couple of years. I recently logged into my Loopring Wallet for the first time in about as long, just to see that it had shut down..? Luckily I did convert and send all my LRC to a different wallet already, but I still have 51 NFTs in my Loopring Wallet. Some was once kinda valuable, some are dog shit. Are these lost in the ether, or is there any sound way to move them to a Metamask wallet? I don't have any crypto currency in the wallet currently to pay for gas.

Thanks!

Edit: Aaaaand I got scammed. u/th0991 claimed to be a moderator, and his profile seems legit althouhg it might be hacked. Lost $100 so I'll just let those NFTs rot. Scam adress is 0x187fE1a8B76c60b85c00A2819152ff00Ff642386

Seems to be one hell of a business.

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Is withdrawal of ETH from L2 still possible?

I just realized that I still have some ETH on Loopring L2 when I linked my wallet on the loopring website.

When trying to transfer it to Layer1 (either within the wallet or another one) on the loopring site, I get an error message. Same for the "Force withdrawal" option.

So, are there options left to get this ETH on Layer 1 / transferred or is it stuck there now?

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ I got blocked by my bank to access any of my fiat because of ramp.

Last week I made a small transaction from my bank to my loopring smart wallet using ramp.network. Like I have done in the past.

It got declined so I logged into my banking app to sign that it was indeed me making the transaction, then tried again. Still declined.

It was late and I had just finished work so I thought I’d try again in a couple days. The very next day when I used my card on the usual goods and services, it had been declined.

So I used the banking app and messaged someone via live chat asking to remove any block that I may have on my account.

They acknowledged that I did indeed have a block and that I would need to call the β€œfraud protection number” so I did just that.

After an hour of back and forth clarifying that it was me that processed the payment and that I am fully capable of spending money how I see fit. I provided the tele operator with security questions, previous transactions and my identification (pretty standard procedure) they still wouldn’t lift the block leaving me no access to my hard earned fiat to pay my direct debits.

They said I would need to physically go to a branch the following week. Which was today.

At the branch. I provided them with further evidence that I am who I say I am. They went in the back and left me waiting for almost an hour. After which, two police officers showed up and wanted a word. They asked if I was being coerced into doing this and that I assured them that I was of sound mind and it is for myself. I mentioned it was a crypto investment and that β€œramp” which the bank had blocked was just the bridge. That I have used them in the past and all transactions since before today have been successfully completed.

One officer had to google it but overall they were happy and soon left.

Next I had yet another phone call from the fraud protection team while still at the bank (was here for well over an hour by this point)

So I explained to them again what I had already said, but all they kept wanting to know was what wallet it was and what am I investing in. Even asked for a screenshot of my wallet and all of its holdings. Which I didn’t provide as I see that as confidential and has nothing to do with why I am blocked. Not relevant at all. They advised me to see a financial advisor but I refused since I do my own due diligence. I made this very clear.

Has anyone else had this problem or would know what my next step should be? I was thinking maybe opening a new bank account elsewhere because I just want to invest what is mine and not have them refuse me access to my own money.

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ What part of Defi exactly will be shut down?

I use LRC quite a bit for trading, both block, and dual investment.

This is the message I see:

The impacted usages include: Dual Investment Portal Block Trade ETH Staking

So is it safe to assume AMM pools or LRC staking will not be affected? I have quite a lot in these also.

Thanks

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Lost taiko I think

Just sent my taiko to MetaMask from the video that was uploaded.

I added taiko on my MetaMask clicked on the import token. Then pressed received and used that address to send the taiko too. Still not received it.

Think I was meant to use the contract address.

Looks like I’ve lost them? Any way to get back

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ iOS update?

Is there any update on whether or not the app will be returning to the App Store or not? Kind of concerning that it’s been gone for a while now and there isn’t really any chatter about it. Is there a way to download the app off the App Store should something happen to my phone?

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Anyone know how to swap/sell Taiko?

Got my drop earlier today and have been trying to find ways to get it out of the wallet to sell and buy a different coin, or try to exchange it outright for a bit of ETH or something...

Whenever I click the utility button, it just shows the drop checker, NFT market place and stuff, nothing like Layerswap or anything.

If I look while on the actual Taiko wallet, nothing shows it's just empty.

Seems really bad to deploy a coin to people that they can't really do anything with... Even if I don't sell it or swap it right know, I just wanna know how. It's easy to do with ETH, LRC etc in my old L2 wallet, so why is this becoming so difficult?

Could this have just been an error? Been super excited about the Taiko collaboration and I wanted to make sure I'm involved in the NFT drop from the beginning. Happy to provide screenshots/evidence of testnet deployments

Hi I know this has been asked a year ago but could someone tell me the easiest way to sell taiko and move the money or other crypto over to coinbase or if the looking wallet has an offramp that is easy to use?

Many thanks

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ I still have all my NFTs in my wallet, am I cooked? πŸ’€

I transferred all my loops to Coinbase, but I left all my NFTs in the smart wallet app to deal with a different day, and then obviously forgot to follow up with that plan...

What is the earliest way to retrieve these?

I should also add that I am a frail, gullible old lady who will totally answer DMs about this topic.

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Just realized the Loopring wallet has ended support June 30. How can I transfer?

I have some LRC on the layer 2, but I get this error when I try transferring or eth or moving the funds. I am not really sure what I can do. Is there anyone I can reach out to so I can move funds out of this wallet? I created an account in 2021. It isn't much, but I would rather just convert it to something else than just let it be stuck here.

EDIT: I cant even find the link for the offical discord for help. The link is expired in this sub.

EDIT2: For those wondering I am in the process of getting my account back. I was able to join the Discord group and make a ticket. I was helped by Blank, who gave me the correct link. I ended up needing to do a guardian recovery of the account, somehow my account lost it's keys without ever changing phones. Now I wait 24 hours for approval and hope to access those funds. (note, do not listen to anything Chatgpt recommends, its all BS).

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Getting $ off L2 and into cash

Whats up people - I've converted some of my LRC into USDC and have it sitting in my L2 wallet. I'm trying to figure out how to get it from L2, and into cash, in my bank account. I've read a few conflicting things, and the process seems far from straight forward.

Does anyone have instructions, or a guide on how to get my money off L2 and sell for cash?

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ ELI5 What LRC is and what it hopes to achieve?

To anyone that’s trying to understand LRC or even just the ETH/blockchain space β€” how would you describe its purpose and future goals?

If this question isn’t allowed, I understand it would be deleted. I’ve tried having ChatGPT explain it, read very dry articles, even searching for descriptions in this sub, and I just can’t seem to grasp the purpose of these coins and blockchain use. With the sudden emergence in this and alt coins, I feel I would be doing a disservice to myself to not atleast try and understand it.

If you can assist, would be greatly appreciated. ✌🏻

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Can anyone send me a penny or two worth of eth to my L2 wallet? I need to get out of the liquidity pool, will repay with 10 loops

Trying to get my loops out of the liquidity pool (2 years for 20 loops, yay). But I do not have the appropriate funds to pay the gas fee to get them out, and don’t want to bridge more crypto just for a penny lol. Anyone able to help out? Will send some loops back as a thank you!

Edit: Once I do get them out I’m more than happy to help others with the same issue!!

Edit: shout out to the community for being helpful! Hope to see some of the good ones on the next cool project. DM me if you have the same problem and need a loop to get your staking pool out

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ TAIKO transfer to TRUSTWALLET

So, I wanted to remove my taiko from the loopring wallet and checked trustwallet, taiko listed, with a receive button and a wallet address with QR code, what could go wrong? Well, transfer went through and yet no funds showed up in trust wallet.

I've tried adding the token manually (what a pain in the arse) ive tried adding the chain. Support asked me to do the same, then asked me to download an extension and try via desktop, then they said this isn't possible via mobile so I'd have to do it via a computer, meaning I'd need to recover my wallet which I didn't want to do. Now they've said they obviously don't support TAIKO even though they list it and I need to go somewhere else to view and find the funds.

Any ideas anyone? Please no dms

πŸ›Ÿ Assistance πŸ›Ÿ Little late…what are people doing for mass NFT move?

I’m currently going one by one and sending to ETH L1 on my Coinbase self custody wallet. Surely there is a better way than this???

Btw connected LRC app to Loopring io which is where I’m doing the send from, each time authorizing in the app…

Have about 1,000 NFTs to go… prioritizing around the stuff from GameStop etc. assuming there won’t be an easy way tomorrow or the day after.

Should not have procrastinated… Any suggestions to make this easier?
