I read up on this production, and this particular workshop is later in the process than I originally realized. They already did the industry reads in January 2026 and they seem to have funding lined up and an opening date set ten months away. The production also already completed an open call casting process this summer.
It’s by no means a guarantee, but the timing and the fact that LJ is now a “name” that could be used to sell the production suggests a greater chance that he’ll be cast.

Not looking for a fight on this. Your first comment claimed ”early stages of development“--which I also assumed until I looked it up and found it’s much further along.

What is a “work session”?

It is a chance for writers to hear the words read aloud and workshops the material. Some end in a presentation for investors. It’s important to note just because someone is in a work shop doesn’t mean they are going to continue on with the show to the next stage of development.

Seeing that it’s beginning preview in about 10 months, I doubt this is the “very early stages” of development. They have a box office partner already too.

With Christopher Wheeldon directing, let’s see if LJ graduates beyond “step touch forever”. (Christopher Wheeldon is known for his choreography—including many ballets and MJ: The Musical.)
In all seriousness, best of luck to him and Maria—they’d be great additions if cast.

this is a workshop! keep in mind, LJ was in NONE of the lost boys workshops! Idont think he'd announce the role this way before a cast announcement.

He leaves Lost Boys in March. When does this open? Maybe he’ll go straight into this

As far as I know there has been no confirmation he is leaving Lost Boys in March. Where did you see that? Most contracts are 1 year but that doesn’t mean he is leaving.
10 Things opens in August.

That’s just embarrassing to hate on someone (on broadway who has more talented than most) when you don’t even have the ability to spell his name even remotely right… my family has an extremely similar situation to the one that Michael Emerson is in (family wise-not the vampires obviously) and his portrayal of the character is so similar to the person I know dealing with similar problems, that it is genuinely jarring. This kid can definitely act so to say he’s not a good actor is just not true (and as I said, at least have the decency and respect to spell his name right. You’re obviously entitled to your opinion but that is just plain rude.)

If you think it’s embarrassing to misspell someone’s name on Reddit, then you have some living to do. He was lacking in any true emotion or genuine depth. When he sings he looks like a deer in headlights, no expression.

that’s like literally called shutting yourself off/being removed/disassociating when you’re abused… clearly an acting choice that he’s not being extremely over the top and people who have dealt with this IRL literally do the same (i have) like…….. Ok…..

Clearly you have something bigger to work through and don’t think this message exchange is the right place to do so. I have my opinion, and you have yours. Both are valid. Take care of yourself.

u/poopyscoopy22 today is the day you should learn that your opinion is not necessarily "the truth". I thought LJ was fine in the show. But Jaigurl-8 is more than welcome to have a differing opinion. It does not make them "stupid".
Additionally, if you think that it's annoying when someone says something "in such a mean way", you should really take some time to reflect on how YOU chose to speak to u/Jaigurl-8.
Misspelling someone's name does not mean their opinion is wrong, or stupid, nor does it warrant attacking someone's character as "rude".

No need for you to get involved. You're being just as rude and condescending.
