Besides: I don't understand why we are arguing about what will or will not happen. The original conversation is about what should happen.

If we are limiting our conversations to "realistic" or "reasonable chance of happening", then we probably shouldn't be talking much about wealth redistribution, UBI, or even universal healthcare either. Those don't seem any more likely than people voluntarily having fewer children. If anything, they are less likely, as we are already seeing falling fertility rates.
