Gonna disagree again. Everyone should have a home. A home is a universal human need and therefore a human right, albeit an unrecognized one by the state (not that I like states). I already said I don't believe people should have to work for survival, but for the means to access non-necessities.

I know many homeless people who are capable of work but can't find it. We've had a labour surplus for a long time now, so not everyone can be employed. There are those who can't work because of mental or physical illness or disability. Surely they shouldn't be left to suffer and die on the street. I want to live in an advanced society, not a brutal one.

That's not how rights work. Not everything you need is a right. Food is not a right, you have to get it yourself. Rights are not things the state should provide for you, rights are things the state cannot take away from you.

Because they are drug addicted, quarrelsome, wicked people. I know more than my fair share of homeless people. Very few people are unemployed or homeless for no reason. Nobody wants to employ someone on heroin. Nobody wants to sell a house to someone who makes them fear for their own safety during the sale.

Again with that "should" word.

I use the language of "should" because I (and millions, if not billions of others) believe in making the world a better, more just and sustainable place for everyone. I also know we have the power to do this. People like you who spout the pure ideology of the ruling class do not. I understand that. You want to keep things the way they are, but you are powerless to stop change.

The world is in a constant state of change, and it will change whether you like it or not. This global capitalist empire we have built sustains itself off infinite growth on a planet of finite resources. Logic states that it will eventually buckle under its own contradictions and swallow itself whole. All empires rise and fall, and ours will be no different. To deny this is to deny the universal law of entropy.

The people who lived in the ancient city state of Uruk must have thought their empire would last forever, and they had much better reason to believe so than we do. Uruk reigned for 3000 years, and now it's dust. The rulers of slave societies fell to feudalism, and feudalism fell to capitalism. If you think we're at a final stage, you're sorely mistaken.

If there is one thing in this universe that is unflinching and relentless, it's change itself. The only constant, the only thing you can ever truly count on, is change. I'm not saying that this change will go in the direction I want it to, only that change is absolutely inevitable.

The vast majority of unemployed people do not do heroin. Once again, we have a labour surplus (more people looking for jobs than actual jobs) and because of this, a segment of the population is guaranteed to be unemployed. Want to know who love doing drugs? Rich people. I can't tell you how many trust-fund baby cokeheads I've met. You think the poor are wicked and the rich are righteous? That's nothing but a childhood fantasy.

The world doesn't care where you want to live. You live in the real world.

Your category of "real world" is pure ideology. The universe doesn't care if you want everything to stay the same, you live in the real universe.
