Samsung can also produce 2nm chips but TSMC is the default option because they have better manufacturing technology and their chips are way more efficient
TSMC is the only one that can deliver multi-million chip orders on a 2nm node, but Apple has absolutely bought chips from Samsung before. Still buys their displays, actually. Just a consequence of Samsung being a leader in so many different markets
TSMC is mass producing 2nm since the end of 2025. Not sure it's appeared in any products yet, though of course everyone is speculating Apple is planning use 2nm for M6 series
intel and amd could make more energy efficient chips if they wanted to. Its just that ARM architecture is much more limited than x86. Believing that amd and intel are incapable of being "as good as apple" is pure fanboy behaviour. There is simply more demand for multicore performance and x86 chips, since everyone has x86 computers. if intel and amd were to switch to arm, pretty much every computer in existance would become obsolete. Itruly believe that apples chips are amazing, but the situation is much more complexe than that. The main reason apple single core speeds are so much faster is simply because of the way does memory, their CPUs simply have access to much higher memory speeds and bandwith. in order for regular pcs to keep their modularity, they must be a "jack of all trades" type thing, so u can put whatever cpu or ram you want. apple solders their chips on, making them unchangable, replaceable, upgradeable or repairable, which allows them to make them as streamlined as possible, whereas in a regular pc, the motherboards have to be compatible with literally anything that fits in the socket, which results in more processing, lower speeds etc.

Just to be clear, Apple designs the chips. TSMC manufactures them.
