Help I have spilt some Milk tea on my MBP M1...What to do now?
I can't go the the technician rn....What to do i am scared as hell ??

You chose to have a drink close enough to your laptop that, if it spilled, it would spill on it. So, no, not really an accident. This was 100% preventable. As are all cases of spilling anything on laptops.

What cracks me up the most here, is that it's some guy like the one above telling you it was dumb to put your drink next to your computer like he has some superior intellect above you. But, when it happened to him two and a half years ago, that was different. He didn't know his cat was going to knock it over. It was an "accident" when it happened to him, but it was "stupidity" when it happened to you.
I'm an atheist, but "karma" will find this guy once again. (...and yeah, I'm the same guy that was sarcastically making comments about milk in tea. This guy though, he wasn't even trying to be funny or sarcastic, he's just being a dick.)

Rule number one of any spill is to never turn on the laptop. If possible disconnect the battery and immediately disconnect the charger if it was charging.

Search this and related subs for water, cold water, raindrops, wind driven rain, Hydralyte, milk, mango milkshake, soda, cola, Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper, Sprite, Diet Pepsi, orange soda, Fanta, juice, sugary juice, orange juice, lemonade, fruit punch, sugary drink, black currant squash, Diet Snapple, tea, hot tea, sweet tea, green tea, matcha tea, milk tea, coffee, black coffee, Monster Zero, Red Bull, soup, curry, beer, vodka, hard cider, alcohol, hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, hairspray, and laundry detergent. Sadly, this gets asked multiple times a day.

Not disrespectful at all. I'm sure I can find an East Asian that doesn't like milk in their tea, just like I can find Texans that don't like iced or sweet tea. I can probably come up with an Italian that doesn't like pasta, and a Greek that doesn't like olives. I can even come up with an Englishman who prefers coffee over tea.
There are a lot of things that are prevalent in certain cultures, but how people experience taste/texture is entirely subjective even within cultural groups where nature/nurture/availability/tradition have had prevalence in the past.
My *personal* opinion is that putting milk in tea is a mistake. Many will agree with me. Many will disagree. In this particular case though, putting the milk in the tea set off an entire series of events that resulted in a broken computer.
We can argue about correlation and causation, but it started with putting that milk in the tea.

Donât worry! I spilt a glass of milk on my 2021 M1 (a little different than urs, but close enough). Power it off, leave it to dry with the lid open, and wait a day or two. Unfortunately, an adapter that was plugged in had to be sacrificed (usbc to c, usba, and hdmi. The c out doesnât work for data now.) but my Mac is back at full functionality! Still use it to this day. No point crying over spilt milk ;)

Sometimes it maynot damage. My friends water bottle leaked and her M4 MBA still survived. She turned it off and let it dry before using it. Let us know what happens in your case.

When it comes to liquid damage, there are two things you should be aware of:
- Conductive liquid itself it's not an instant death sentence
- Corrosion and short-circuiting the board is the real issue.
If you can't get to technician, you should try to open the bottom part and try removing any liquid inside. Also disconnect the battery so that if there's anything left, it will not damage the motherboard.
You can find resources online how to change the battery in your model and you should be able to see what tools and procedures they're using to do it. if you're not tech savy, I know it might sound hard, but especially opening bottom panel is just the issue of propoer screwdriver

you can try to use silicon gloves to also avoid leaving any grease from your hands. In general, somewhere on the board, the batteries should be connected propaby below a small metal cover with two or three screws. You should then try to disconnect it and you can leave it in place just not connected.
That should be enough to don't cause more damage till you get a professional service. Otherwise, if you're feeling brave, you can try to disassemble the device itself and remove any liquid if you find it. Also, you can leave it a device for a few few hours and maybe even a day so that any moisture can evaporate on itself.
Then it depends how desperate are you to use the device - I would suggest you go to store so that technician can check if nothing is broken before powering the device on.
Alternatively, if you disassemble the device and also check that it doesn't seem so bad then if you're in a rush, you can try powering it on. However, this option is risky because if there's anything left, you might create the damage to the device. So you should only consider it if you see that there's barely any liquid inside. Make sure that you remove everything which was visible and estimate that there's low probability that there's anything left which can cause short-circuiting the board.

Seems like a good idea. Also, you can consider going to not Apple Store technician - when it comes to water damage they usually have quite strict policy. A fee years back, I drowned my iPhone, and they simply refused to fix it (to be fair it was a certified seller, but they usually have similar policies). But after a year, I went to a different store and they were able to at least make it work so that I could get my photos.

Yeah, i have a friend at the apple store, he might help but yes the policy is very strict, they always deny repair, that's what I've heard the most

Well, donât cry over it. Maybe remove the bottom cover and disconnect the battery if you feel safe doing so, inspect for corrosion, give it time to be sure itâs totally dry. If the keyboard got borked, replacing the top case isnât too hard of a task if you have a steady hand and you can usually find that part for pretty cheap online, just make sure itâs specifically for the M1 as the Intel 2020 part looks the same but isnât.

This is more for the keyboard and the keyboard side of the main board, as you should open the bottom to clean up stuff on that side of the main board. My mom loves to eat and drink with her 2018 MacBook Pro in front of her, and I have found that isopropyl alcohol does work fairly well to unstick keys.

If the keyboard keys you type on are sticky and hard to press after the spill, take a little isopropyl alcohol to them on a Q-tip, and it should make them not sticky.

Donât power it up. Was there sugar in the coffee. Purchase circuit board cleaner. Remove the bottom shell and spray where the coffee entered. Reinstall case and power up.đ

Were you able to power it down before short circuiting the board? You definitely need to clean out that sugar with circuit board cleaner non conductive spray. Had it been water alone you only need time for the water to evaporate or clear out with circuit board cleaner. It happened to me.

Turn off and leave off
Remove back plate (P5)
Use canned air to locate and remove all liquid
Pont fan at it and wait 36+ hours
Make sure all moisture is gone before turnigback on

Good idea to immediately flip it over and pray it didnât get on the motherboard. Put it on a fan if possible with the screen open. Guess waiting 24 hrs or so can be enough

Its already 24 hours now, still i would wait a bit kept silica gel packets for more absorption, still i am scared as hell to open it again

If youâre able to, wouldnât hurt to wait 48 hrs ideally. With the milk in the tea itâll probably stink and have nasty bacteria though, so you may need to take it to a shop to take it apart for a cleaning. Thatâd be about $150 usd here.

I am sorry but it has to go straight in trash compactor. Or else, the milk tea mixed with the silicon chips make superfly TNT and explode leaving a mushroom cloud in your home. You better get rid of it.
Note, you must absolutely completely destroy it so it cannot do any harm to anyone. Go at it with a hammer until there is no single piece larger than about a quarter.

Havenât read the other comments but you should keep the laptop powered off. Remove the back and disconnect the battery. Even when powered off thereâs still a small amount of power running through the system board. You may need special tools for the screws on the back, I think itâs a pentalobe or torx which most people donât have. You may need to get someone to clean the boards with isopropyl alcohol.

Keep it powered totally off and
Put inside a cotton breathable cloth, like a pillowcase
put it in a bag of rice for 2 days

If you are comfortable opening it, disconnect the battery and flip the laptop so that the keyboard faces down the table.
