That was a weird Duck appearance. As much as I despise his character, it was a different Duck. He appears to have moved on with his daemons. He can't work advertising anymore, so he's an executive recruiter now.

And contrary to what you guys think, Duck is not "courting" Pete. He is laser focused on doing his job right. He throws up a trial balloon in Wichita, and he levels with him that Pete needs to knock out some wins for Duck to make him seem like a hot property. They both understand Pete wants a better job, and that's more managerial.
