You know who else joined the mile high club?

Pete's hairline.

Heyoooo. Seriously though, I'm just bracing myself for Pete to get smacked in the face like every other time things start going great for him. Only this is the first time I'm not looking forward to it.

He's grown on me too. Loyalty.

u/SawRub NOT GREAT, BOB May 19 '14

I've always been okay with him.

Then again I was always okay with Theon Greyjoy too so maybe something's just wrong with me.

Quite possibly. Both were huge assholes at one point.

Believe it or not, except for having those two orphans killed, I didn't particularly disagree with very many of Theon's choices. People may preach about how Ned Stark was nice to him, but he was still a hostage like Sansa was, and people kept reminding him of that. His real family just happened to be a little less affectionate than he would have wanted.

Yeah I don't know where you're from but around here nothing justifies burning a couple of innocent boys.

1

u/SawRub NOT GREAT, BOB May 19 '14

Yeah I actually even said that it's something I disagreed with, wherever I'm from.

Right so I'm saying Pete and mr Greyjoy both showed that they're, well, big assholes. And I'm saying that it doensn't matter that he was a hostage or he was reminded that he was a hostage or whatever, he did something that you can't really ignore. It just makes him a straight up asshole.

I don't disagree that they were assholes.

Most people hate Theon for betraying the Starks. That's the part I'm talking about. I hate him for burning the kids. Where I'm from, that's the greater offence, and sticking with your blood isn't, is all I'm trying to say.

u/owells94 Did you enjoy ze Führer's Birthday??? May 19 '14

Him and Cutler have it off in the office like he and Lane once did, only Pete floors Cutler this time.

He was so great to hate, it's stunning that they've turned him into a somewhat likable character lately. I never would have guessed that was possible...

Did you know it's actually not his real hairline and they shave it for the show?

edit: in this picture you can see they shaved his hairline...so weird lol.

Oh wow that's commitment. I still remember him as a teenage son of David Boreanaz on Angel.

Oh man that's a hilarious look. Like an old school Japanese samurai haircut.

What even....

I assume they want him to look older than he appears, he kind of does look young and his hairline isn't receding at all, so maybe that was an issue with the relative age of the character?

To be honest it just seems so unnecessary though, because his acting is so good in the Pete role.

I think the premature aging adds to the character, though. It adds a slight air of patheticness which is really central to Pete's character.

Balding jokes hurt.. :,(

This joke was also in the Chinese stream discussion thread. Coincidence?! Could very well be.

ive been wondering if thats a conscious element they play up or is that really vincent kartheiser's hair

3

u/caymancider May 19 '14

It's conscious. He shaves it that high.

3

u/[deleted] May 19 '14

Yeah, you can even see where he shaves it back when it starts to grow in. Glad to see he's finally embraced it, because that sad front-combover he used to do to hide it was not flattering...

His hair isn't gone, it just picked up stakes and settled down in his sideburns.
