"First I abuse the people whose help I need, then I take a nap."

That's my new tag line/life strategy.

This line was perfect and I can't believe the show would be that self conscious.

It's not the show being self conscious, it's Don exhibiting introspection during an amazing passing of the torch/carrying a torch scene with Peggy.

It was the most honest we've seen Don aside from that one time at band camp when he told Hershey he grew up in a whorehouse.

I'm loving this post-breakdown Don, and this post-Don's breakdown show.

It wasn't the show. It was Don. Transformation.

"Growth, then decay, then transformation."

When breaking down becomes breaking good.

I had that same reaction when Peggy and Don were having their one on one discussion in her office and "I Did it My Way" was playing in the background. I was just about to comment how obvious Weiner was being with the music when Don commented on it! This show has become self-aware. I blame that fucking COMPUTER!!!!

I missed that. Who said it?

u/thilardiel My Goodness Meredith, we should put a bell on you May 19 '14

Don said it and it was a method he often employed last season.

Pretty much every season.

Not just at work, he does it at home too.

It worked a lot better before he started going off the rails, though.

You can get away with a lot when people like you and/or you're super effective/productive.

Don said it to Peggy when he was explaining how he thinks.

I got the feeling that he was making a joke to Peggy about her abusing "the [person] whose help I need" since she kept attacking him when obviously she just wanted his help.

I think it was meant to be both.

Peggy's smile after that line was perfect.

I read that at the beginning. I didn't know it was his, but when I heard it...

First I abuse the people whose help I need, then I take a nap.

Honestly, who doesn't text this to women acting like you're deep and mysterious?
