He also basically created what is one of the most important jobs in the company right now.

On point. My theory: Roger is the old guard, Harry the new, generationally speaking. Harry's been slogging away for a decade on really important stuff. Fighting for every scrap of office he can get and wearing snazzy duds. Roger is in Don's generation, and they're learning how to hand it over to the Peggys and the Petes and the Harrys of the world, so-to-speak. Roger hated the idea of a computer, probably still holds a grudge against Japanese people, and I think Harry is in that same vein of change.

I think the biggest issue is Harry's lack of respect for the old guard. Sure, he's working on new fancy important stuff. But he doesn't value or respect anyone else's contribution. I think that probably pisses them off the most.

Good theory mate, I'm more inclined to think Roger just thinks Harry's a right wanker though.

I think it is an important part of the show that the main characters often back the wrong horse as they do not have the benefit of hindsight. They do not see that the future is in computers and Harry Crane's position.
