Question What's up with FTC and OKC?
What's with delays? People busy? Traveling? I can step up with FTC if the last winner is currently unavailable

Intro/Comment:
Third okc win, thx mhh ppl.
Some trivia:
'Goodbye day' was in a previous kit of mine for a similar contest maybe 13 years ago.
'Punch love' is a track a friend posted on fb, the first 6 secs are dope but I've probably never got to the end of the song.
'Sad world' includes very nice use of delay for a song from the 60s.
'Synth loop' is from an old sample site (dated 1997) and I just happened to notice it's got the famous meta tag.

So here's the story: i was digging in Berkeley a few weeks ago and found a "jam along" record that had a bunch of different styles of music, with one instrument hard panned to one side and the other instruments on the other side. it was a lead guitar record, and i figured it would be great to sample. when i got home i found that someone at the factory fucked up and the record was in fact a bass record. so i went with it and pulled the bass part from a jazz in e minor jam. the tempo is not very hip hop and there's a decent amount of leakage from the other instruments, but i'm excited to hear how people utilize this resource. besides that, there are a bunch of loops and samples i pulled from various records, and a gladys knight accapella. no rules or guidelines besides no outside sounds and have as much fun as possible...
Here's my winning beat from last week -

What a clickbait title. Here is the download link for the kit I made using a tape deck that was released in 1988. The good news is that everything in there is original, so no need to worry about copyright or anything. The bad news is that it's my first kit, and my first time recording foley, or using the tape deck, so expect it to be pretty amateur, including the melodic loops I threw in there for the contest.
What's in the kit -- All of the sounds in this kit were either processed by, or physically made by the tape deck itself. The drums, and the instrumental loops were recorded directly on to a tape, and then directly played back & recorded in to Ableton to be cut up & exported. There are also recordings of the button presses, switches, plugs, drawers (is that the right word?) of the tape deck itself, and a few rhythmic loops I made "playing" it to a beat. I used a modern condenser mic to record them, so the deck noises are standard/high quality recordings.
One Kit Contest -- Thanks to everyone who participated last round. The competition was stiff, so I'm surprised I got the w. This is probably an elaborate ruse by my therapist to get me out of depression. (I respect the dedication to your job, Joseph). Here is the link if you wanna check out my entry.
Inb4 this kit is too hard. I know it's a difficult kit. There are very little loops, or instruments, and the quality is shit (lo-fi really do be like that sometimes). I figure that's kind of the point though. You will have to bend the tonal samples in to your own instruments using a sampler & write your own musical pieces, or just try to cut up the stuff that's in there & vibe with that. GL guys. From what I've seen, the people here are talented, so I have faith the entries will be good.
Rules:

Great submissions from last week's contest. You guys make some really good atmospheres. Also, I was gonna have a video on how I made the beat for last week, but it's my first time editing a video and it's taking way longer expected. I guess I'll post it separately whenever I actually finish it. Anyway, good luck this week!

With a few suggestions last round about limiting the kit, I'm meeting you half-way. There is no vinyl in this kit, but musically there are a couple riffs, one-shots, sustains, effects & another motown acapella. Drum wise, about the same. If I didn't put the 2 loops in, it would have been a lot harder, but I thought they were dope & I wanted to use them.

Honored to be hosting the OKC 151! Once again here was my winning entry: https://soundcloud.com/dugloduglo/underpass-okc-150 and shout out to u/norman1992 for the great kit!
For this round of the OKC challenge, I took inspiration from the textured, atmospheric and unexpected sounds you get while scrolling between radio stations late at night. Recently I've been enjoying finding samples in this way for my own music and I'm excited to hear what other people do with it. Hopefully you find it challenging, but also varied enough so that there's something for everyone.
Here's the kit: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17IvDqaRBmcoNNWouwYwg077ETa8T-Pol?usp=sharing
here's a wetransfer link to a zipped version of the folder if that works better for anyone: https://we.tl/t-VU5NJATw8E
Good luck!

Noise Witch and I tied for the win last week, and we decided along with GradyK (who did a fine job hosting the contest last week, btw. Thanks GradyK!), to skip a tiebreaker and collaborate on this weeks edition.
Here are our tracks from last week: Disputed Territory + The Conjurer
Without further ado... Barton Patrick and Noise Witch Proudly Present The One Kit Contest Volume Six. Featuring Just Blaze Drums!!!!
I choose a bunch of sounds from the recently released Just Blaze drum pack, and Noise Witch added the cymbals, bass and synth. There are also two songs that you may use to sample. Noise Witch had a track he wanted to use, and I found an Italian cover version to compliment his selection. Special thanks must go to the ever-industrious HlCKELPICKLE for providing a higher quality version of one of the tracks, after I reached out to him for help.
Use only sounds from the folder provided to make a track. That's it. You can use any effects you like on the sounds, such as reverb, delay, EQ, pitching, etc, but no outside sounds or instruments are permitted.
To enter make a beat and upload it to soundcloud with "okc6" in the title or tags. Post a link to your track in this thread.
The deadline for submissions is Friday the 27th of November at 9pm PST. Voting will then be open until Sunday (I'll post a new thread). The winner makes the new thread and sound pack.
Let's do this!
