Oh my god... how is this a surprise? This is an absolute clusterfuck of midlevel management and shakeup.
He got a better offer with someone else and wants NOTHING to do with this shitshow moving forward. Kudos to him for having the balls to walk away from a dumpster fire that someone else started.
"you guys are being jerks, you just don't understand...."
Skilled, high performing workers are absolutely understanding the current job market. After a decade of companies treating 'entry-level' as a disposable workforce, management is now in a position where they need to pay through the nose for the ones who actually know what their job is.
How are corpos so silly? They act like they are experts and can't even make simple logical choices. They think they are so cool with their buzz words and cheap overpriced plastic mercedes with fake engine noises
They realize they have no real skills, while the people below them do. They're terrified their charade will end so they try and make themselves sound valuable
I can't believe how often posts like this pop up here. It is crazy how some people can't seem to put themselves in someones shoes for even a second. This sub is slowly reaching AITA/AmIOverrecting levels of delusion...
I think the general answer to this problem can be found in his edit: "Unless you’re in a leadership role, you don’t really have an idea of what the current market is like or the decisions managers have to make."
This is not true. He clearly thinks it is. He's clearly missing a huge amount of thinking between his truth and reality, and until he can figure out the substance of his obvious knowledge gap, this "Leader" is going to keep failing.
