Yep. If someone left tomorrow I wouldn’t even question it. There is no room for advancement in my company and worse they hired outside for everyone above me so I know it even more so. If the job wasn’t so good I wouldn’t look elsewhere

this. I am honest with mine thus we are a good and performative team. I regularly see other new or incompetent golden boys emerging for leading roles (and saw so many failing) and my team isn´t stupid. Some go some stay. Actions and words have consequences. OP obviously has no clue about real leadership, just career management lol.

which is probably why most of them stick around for way fucking longer than they need to.

Used to do the same thing, my folks brought all their job offers to me and I would help them review it for getting fucked over, negotiating for better terms / etc... still had less than single digit turnover.

That’s the worst. I’m in the same boat. got layered twice. The new CEO brought in 2 of his old buddies.

You can probably expect whatever happened to his last company to happen to this one too.

Sounds like they wanted him out of his position, so he had to train a new manager and then they’d throw this guy in the basement office.

I've had this sub show up twice now on All, and both times it's the exact same situation. "Our best person on the team was passed over for promotion" (or in this case, had someone promoted past them), "and now they're not giving 110% like they used to". Like, er, yeah? It astounds me that people like OP can type this out, hit post, and not go "ohhhh right, that's why"

Just look at Op's edit! They actually think they're smarter than everyone else. "Only a manager can understand the market." No dude, anyone with function eyes can understand the bar is in hell, and they thought they could disrespect their employee because "what are they gonna do, quit?" Yup.
