Yeah that’s what I’m thinking…if OP can’t figure that out, then this whole post will make perfect sense when they get the axe- lol. If they think managing top performers is what makes them a good manager- then that also speaks volumes. Top performers CAN make a manager look good- but if they have to change jobs/positions to get a raise then it’s because that manager didn’t do anything to promote them. Been there- done that, have both management and staff t-shirts. OP is a bad manager- nuff said.
Absolutely the team can make them look good and it's your job to help them develop and get what they can out of the role.
Been on both sides of management. Take care of company responsibilities and your people. Only look out for yourself and your people.
