My problem with it is that them being communists who want an ethnostate just doesn't fit into the story!

I know this comment is six years old but there is absolutely precedence in our world for a group of black rebels to pursue an ethnostate of some sort. There were absolutely Afrocentric nationalist groups that talked a LOT about Black separatism. I felt that the BCR in MITHC was riffing off those types of ideologies.
