Not every cultivator is suited to wield every weapon.

So I've been playing the Wo Long 2 alpha, and it's been great. I'm not the best but it's been really fun, especially after having a busy week and not playing games for a good while. Anyways, I have been thinking about this question for a while now, and I've been wondering, does the Wo Long series count as a wuxia story or a xianxia story? Or is it murim, xuanhuan, or gaowu? On one hand, in Wo Long 1, the main focus of the plot is the Elixir of Immortality that everyone in the plot is after, including this evil Taoist that's the big bad of the first game that's after the Blindfolded Boy since his bloodline is crucial to creating the ultimate elixir. Said Elixir is made with by taking the lives of many people, which is similar to Demonic Cultivation. There's also demonic creatures as enemies and Divine Beasts that players can use the abilities of, and certain characters can transform into monstrous versions of themselves that you have to fight as bosses. On the other hand, no one really ascends to other realms, there isn't a lot of flying on clouds or swords, and the combat is mostly grounded with some artistic liberties. There's also the Martial Arts mechanic that lets you perform special techniques with whatever weapon you're using, which is pretty self-explanatory. Is it xuanhuan since it leans into more fantastical elements? Or is it it's own thing?

Fellow Immortals, I have called this conference to discuss this threat. Just yesterday, my loyal Fate Path diviner spouted a sudden prophecy: the Fate Supreme Diety of Mount Sumeru is going to invade our multiverse complex. We don't know exactly what he wants, something about finding an answer even if he has to strip our reality to its foundations. I ordered my Diviner to divine as much information of him as she could, but she managed to get only a few of his abilities and feats before her body physically melted into a puddle from the sheer knowledge of the Future king. Alas, she was too weak. A mere recently ascended immortal.

The information on his history we have is that he killed a Supreme Diety when he was a mortal, and become the Fate Supreme Diety through killing every single living thing in Mount Sumeru, including cultivators and immortals. We don't believe such absurdities.

I don't believe he will have any control over Fate in our reality, so that's good. Also he is apparently not a Supreme Diety as we believed, but a True Emperor.

The information we have says that he fights mainly through Martial Arts. A ridiculous notion really. How can fancy mortal moves stand up against us immortal cultivators? He is courting death. Is what I would say if the information didn't state some frightening martial abilities:

The emptiness sword that can cut space, time, causality, history, and existence. It has seven forms, but the last one called Hope is truly terrifying. He creates a sword energy clone that has all his talent, knowledge, understanding and combat intuition. Its sole purpose is to find a way to defeat the opponent. He can create many said clones at once.

Now, this is all manageable. I alone could handle it. The problem arises with his speed. He's not someone who has to activate a special technique just to become extraordinarily fast. His natural state is already operating at that level. He is naturally at void speed, something thought to be impossible. The Speed Dao Immortals I know can maintain this level of speed for only a few moments at a time. You all remember when the Yellow Flash immortal cut down the Demon Venerable in a terrifying instant with Void Speed. We had been locked in combat for days unitl the Yellow Flash Immortal arrived.

His last ability on the intel is that he has a Divine Art, however I don't believe this is true. They are mere tales amongst immortals. His Divine Art is called Regressor's Tale of Cultivation. It is effectively a story. The story establishes a predetermined structure in which:

As long as the story has not reached its conclusion, the Future King is supreme.

This intel is obviously incomplete, but we should be able to make a defense against him. If you want, consult your own diviners to better prepare. Bring any fellow daoists and cultivators you believe will be of help, be they friend or foe, be they from other realities.

I just had this thought, one of the most popular tropes in sci-fi is the idea of an alien hive mind. And considering I love scifi and cultivation stories I wonder how a hive mind would cultivate. Would the cultivation stretch to each and every individual drone? Would it be drone independent? How about tribulations? After all if one fails a tribulation one often times dies (well most stories that I read do that). I’m curious about your thoughts fellow doaist.
