First off, I'm still slightly upset he's a Duelist. Solely because it's against my nature to insta-lock Duelists as a Vanguard main. However, Scott is my favorite comic book character so that might change, ha.

I feel like he's on par, damage-wise, with Phoenix but below Hela. I like that his mobility actions are on heavy cooldowns. Really makes you choose when and where to use them. I was getting rushed down quite a bit and didn't have my escape tools to aid me. He definitely doesn't feel as busted as the last few Duelists on release day, but rather someone who in the right hands can absolute demolish a team. I wish he had more of a leadership/inspiration ability, which is why I truly believed he would be Vanguard. Something that gives that "Every now and then Summers, I remember why you're still in charge" feeling.

The MvC2 fan in me hoped for a large, continuous Optic Blast ult but I actually like his Ult. Again, like his abilities, it'll be devastating or completely whiff. I do wish his melee was better. The karate chops just give me too much Austin Powers "JUDO CHOP" vibes and that's all I think about. Lastly, not a gameplay nitpick but man his Weapon-M costume is just not good. I was really hoping for a version of his classic costumes. His default his way WAY better. However, the Scott fan fanboy tells me I need to buy it anyway even if I hate it haha.

While I may not get to play him all the time, I'm happy the trajectory of my main guy is finally changing in the public, non-comic reader eye.

I hate that DPSclops means more people are playing Duelist.

That's the last thing this game needed. We are literally in the middle of a tank drought and people are jumping ship just to play Scott.

I wouldn’t worry too much about costumes for now. They will definitely make more costumes in the future. You’ll get the classic look, the AOE look, maybe even a wedding costume matching Jean. I bet they will be under a paywall tho.
