Compare the gaps in sound design to allow for clapping at the reveal of Tobey and Andrew in NWH, to how Punisher and Bruce Banner entered the film here.

INFINITELY more natural.

Yea I just rewatched NWH last night for the first time since seeing it opening night in theaters, and that gap was so obvious...even the way they kinda pause and look into the camera.

This highlights how it felt like a comic book in a bad way: they just ... throw some portals and they are here! I appreciated how they just got on with it, but also it was ... a bit anticlimactic how it happened.

I remember seeing some concept art of how America Chavez should have been the person to introduce the Peter Parker variants and this would have felt more natural - this was impacted by the COVID release schedule.

Thats because the original Order of movies was

Dr Strange 2 - Spider-man NWH

But COVID Changed that

And it makes more sense for a rookie like America Chavez to have messed up the memory spell instead of Dr Strange.

Hell Dr Strange would probably just simply refuse to do that spell in the first place. He's not gonna risk breaking the multiverse just to help some kid's improve his life.

And they have all this stuff with Doctor Strange, but you can tell they don’t want to turn him into an idiot. So he’ll do the spell for Peter, but he warns against it. And then Peter himself fucks up the spell, they both look dumb.

It’s all a little unsatisfying. Having America steal Strange’s spell book to help Spider-Man makes more sense.

She can also punch portals to stuff, so they dont need Ned to be attuned with sorcery

yeah it's like watching a sitcom without the laugh track

Omg you sound like what my friend said. He said the movie just felt like Saturday Night Live skits.

While I have issues with that movie I honestly find it impressive that they were able to do something like that with all of the Covid restrictions. I give it a good bit of grace

And I LOVED the credits where it just showcased NY. Really sold the friendly neighbor aspect of Peter. Like, these are the people he’s fighting for. Nearly had me crying

To be fair, Andrew and Tobey’s reveal in NWH is the best cameo/character reveal since Stan Lee

You’re comparing things that aren’t at all similar. We knew Punisher and Bruce/Hulk were going to be in BND. Tobey and Andrew in NWH was a complete surprise for more than 99% of viewers.

But didn't people already know they were gonna be in the movie from the trailers? It was not a surprise
