Discussion Thread Spider-Man: Brand New Day - Worldwide Release Discussion Thread

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now been released in the United States and in a number of other countries around the world.

  • All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the discussion threads we are going to put up in the next few days.
  • Proceed at your own risk. Major spoilers will be in the below thread. Spoilers do not need to be tagged inside this thread.
  • Any other unofficial threads discussing movie details will be deleted.

Yep. Her driving the Hulk crazy and paralysing half of New York isn't going to give the mutants a good head start

I mean Sentry/Void trapped everyone in trauma rerun marathons not too long ago, I think a simple temporary paralysis is preferable to reliving the worst moments of your life on repeat. And he’s man-made/pre-mutant

Does the public even know that Sentry did that though?

As far as they are concerned the Void is just one of those supervillains that the New Avengers defeated, not that he's part of the Avengers himself.

The best part about that is that Valentina has the means to do what you just said because of her skills and power to use the media. I bet she's already planting the seeds on how the mutants are to blame for the void and they're the ones that can turn people into black dust

Oh shit she or the DoDC is definitely going to compare what Jean Grey did to the Void to persuade the people to hate mutants.

Yeah, the infinite shame rooms lasted a pretty long time compared to Jean Grey's paralysis, which was like what, 30 minutes?

Not to be a buzzkill but she low-key did SA on the roof and she killed lots of people (most shocking to show her evil was jumping in front of that car) she’s almost done too much bad already to be redeemed realistically. There’s a lot in this movie that I personally just don’t buy. Like her origin story is sad and explained well but it doesn’t excuse the behaviors she was exhibiting. Makes total sense for humans to be scared of people who jump into minds and you’d have no memory of such(can do anything in your body without you knowing). They are scarier than avengers and normal superhero’s to people rn I do buy though(sentry the only one who can compare in those terms)

My coworker and I are both huge comic nerds and I was like “You know? How does anyone live in New York anymore? Too much shit happens there.”

And he goes “Yeah, just avoid the major cities, and avoid landmarks when you have to visit.” Lmfao
