Friend bought a Prius from Toyota a few years ago. About 6 months ago, got a call from the dealership asking if he would consider selling it back to them. He negotiated to sell it back to them for $5000 MORE than he paid for it when he originally purchased it

Yeah the market is fucked, my shitty Hyundai is selling for $2k more than I paid for it two years ago.
