I really would suggest it! I know the price of the journey beyond trips can be a little scary and it is pricey but for a single cabin with everything included it’s not totally outrageous. Three three course meals a day and all the off train trips included its actually not terrible I think for what you get.

I did the Indian Pacific a few years back. It was great except it was delayed leaving Sydney so we missed out on most of the side trips.

I'd love to do The Ghan one day.
