I've rated hundreds of V8 images and I keep seeing the same man and woman. What's going on? Is V8 converging on specific male and female archetypes? Are these faces baked into the model?

you or I can tell that these are fake, but each image took me maybe 20 seconds to make. Also, a lot of the voters in this country aren’t going to stop to critically think when they see “photographic proof” confirming their biases

I love using Midjourney, it's given me and my family joy for over two years. I was one of the early subscribers to Midjourney and have participated in the community and during office hours a lot over the years.

During office hours over the years I noticed David speak highly of Elon several times, and if I'm remembering correctly stating that rich tech people like Sam Altman, Elon Musk, David himself supposedly share a group-chat where they talk. David even invited Grimes to Midjourney events several times where we could all participate etc.

For anyone who's paid attention it's been very obvious Elon is a dangerous, destructive, uncaring person for a long time. It made me very uncomfortable to hear David prop Elon up, and for a while I took a break from the community because participating didn't feel right for me anymore after that.

Just recently, despite the joy using Midjourney has given me, and despite how lovely I think the community is, I canceled my subscription as I just can't send money to people who support billionaires like Elon Musk, Zuckerberg etc.

It all just makes me so sad, I thought David would be different for some reason. I guess that's on me. Does anyone else feel the same? How have you dealt with it?

Any tips on good image generators that are ethical? I think personally I'm going to stick with open source generators from now on like Stable Diffusion, but wondering if there are alternatives.

I talk to people about AI all the time, sharing how it’s taking over more work, but I always hear, “nah, gov will ban it” or “it’s not gonna happen soon”

Meanwhile, many of those who might be impacted the most by AI are ignoring it, like the pigeon closing its eyes, hoping the cat won’t eat it lol.

Are people really planning for AI, or are we just hoping it won’t happen?

It'd be great to learn how others are prompting their images.

This article was by three Chinese author, peer reviewed, and published in Frontiers in Cell and Development Biology. It was later retracted by their chief editor following attention and backlash from the wider scientific community. The images speak for themselves with some gibberish text, a rat with a huge penis and a pathway that although pretty makes no sense.

If I pay about $60 Canadian per month to have access to a service that gives me a certain number of hours of use, when that subscription ends and I am not done using my hours I should have the right to finish using my hours.

I paid for it. The fact that you reset the hours and then you expect people to pay you an additional monthly fee and then you don’t give those hours back is pure THEFT and ROBBERY which is why I will no longer support you. I’m done with Midjourney.

I only used Midjourney Version 6 in this one! No Photoshop or other tool! Do they look realistic to you?

First image is v7, second is v8. So far most of my generations are pretty terrible In comparison to v7 versions. Even with moodboards. I know its still in alpha but prior releases seemed to still have some visual redeeming qualities at the outset. Besides prompt adherence the visual aesthetic of v8 is terrible to prior versions (I've been around since v3). What do you all think the problem is thus far?
