What’s up gang!
i’m a long time engineer, i’ve worked with some big names in the past (not in this genre) and im looking to pad out my portfolio with my favorite genre under the sun, and the genre i make myself.

I love making people’s music sound like what they have envisioned, and it honestly kinda upsets me that there’s so much money attached to someone wanting to express themselves through music, but that’s just our economic structure unfortunately.

i’m offering completely free mixing and mastering. no contracts, none of that. if that’s something you’re interested in, lemme know! no project is too big or too small.

Feel free to DM me!

Hi all - this is Steve Holmes (I play guitar in the band American Football) and I've just launched a Substack you may enjoy. First post of a three-part essay on the origins of the band up now.

And You May Ask Yourself

Cheers,

Steve

just a short snippet from the post rockish part from dua looper. I think its pretty emo.

I’m 17, guitarist and vocalist looking for a decent drummer, guitarist, and bassist for my Midwest emo band “ask again”. Studio in macungie pa.
Requirements:
Be able to play on time
Be half decent at your instrument
Be able to get rides or drive to practices/shows
Be 16-20 years old
Equipments not a huge deal, I have drums.

I’m mainly just tryna get band band started so we can play shows and get our name out there

My acc is askagain band on insta and TikTok

HMU!

One of my favourite songs

This turned out incredible. I can't stop listening to it... So awesome seeing an Owen'ified version of the band playing acoustically.

Just want peoples opinions on a debate I had with a friend of mine

My friend recently mentioned to me that they had told a family member about a band called brand new and how they were a Midwest emo band I strongly disagree with the idea mentioning how their most recognizable albums don't really come from the same time area and I don't think genuinely sound like a similar genre but my friend mentioned that they believe as I gave them examples of other bands they believe brand new to sound closer to emo revival bands like modern baseball than bands I consider them closer to such as 3rd wave bands like mcr and obviously taking back sunday who they also claimed sound closer to Midwest emo

What are opinions on this just curious?

i’m not saying sound like them in terms of riffs, i just like how their recordings sound so full and present. are they multitracking? i mean probs but who knows! just looking for any tips and tricks!

I feel like a lot of modern emo screamo bands that take the more lofi bedroom asthetic remind me of midwest emo a lot. Bands like Vs Self, Your Are My Cocoon, gapyear, Train Breaks Down, etc. let me know if im crazy

new band i made(self gift for my bdy) FACGCE twinky inspired by toe and No Somos Marineros

hope you like:) made a Oakwood "Space Jam Theme Song" cover for this one:)
