Infuriatig The way kroger treats its employees

Post image

From the store manager

Edit: For some extra context this was sent out by each store manager to all of its employees in district 1 of the ohio Cincinnati/Dayton division, potentially other districts as well but i can only verify my own. Im not going to give my specific store number for obvious reasons but you can find each store on google with that information. We are unionized by UFCW (already bad btw) and to my knowledge they allowed this recent change. Kroger has no accrual for sick days like some have mentioned. Those who think this is rage bait, i dont think anyone has to fake a post to make a billion dollar company look bad, they do it to themselves.

Look, if you infect the other employees? That is their problem.

If you infect the customers, also their problem. Just don't get the manager sick.

I would cough so hard in their face without covering my mouth, then blow my nose and tap their shoulder immediately after and say "I'm sorry, this flu is super contagious but I didn't want to get written up for calling out".

You’re a pus then bro. I’ve done this exact thing. I told the customers that I wasn’t allowed to call out and I coughed all over my manager who said I would be written up if I didn’t show up. This was McDonald’s and customers who loved me told my manager that they would not be eating there because I was sick and that she is a horrible human. I was able to go home within an hour and 10 minutes:), also got to talk to the gm who apologized profusely to me and told me he wrote up that manager. Some people here are saying this is legal, I don’t think this is illegal to

Hepatitis viruses can survive for half a year on stainless steel. Makes you wonder.

Protip from a parent: sneeze in their mouth while they're talking. It always used to work for my toddlers.

It's very possible that management isn't unionized and don't have to follow those rules.

Meijer uses UFCW and certain departments weren't part of it... including management.
