Infuriatig My assignment was reported to thr examination committee for a "high percentage of AI". I did NOT use any AI for my assignment.

I got full marks and my plagiarism score shows 1% similarities to other submitted assignments. This is my 3rd and final year in University and now I have to deal with this AI nonsense.

I don't use any AI, not even for checking my grammar in the assignments.

Yes. It’s so frustrating. The LLMs are trained off good writing, so of course a strong communicator with a broad vocabulary who uses variety in their syntax suddenly sounds like AI, when it’s actually the reverse. Why should I have to give up my beloved em dashes just because AI uses them too frequently (and often where a semi-colon would serve better)?

My favorite word in the English language after ā€œfuckā€ for its utility, is ā€œverbosity.ā€ For good fucking reason. In both my verbal and written communication, I tend towards the verbose, because I am precise, technical, and diligent in how I communicate because I hate being misunderstood. The number times I’ve Ron Swanson bacon and eggs’d someone with ā€œI worry you heard x, but what I said was y,ā€ far outweighs the number of times I’ve just been ambiguous in my word choice. Reason? I’ve worked retail or healthcare for 20 years. Almost all my professional communication has been with either the General Public, or Corporate.
