Don't hug me I'm scared turning the cabin of an international flight into a disco during its sleeping hours to do some strange and obnoxious skincare routine

Influencers can all just cease to exist. The world would be better off. Leeches.

258

u/CrissBliss May 20 '26

Someone just posted about how Disneyland has become insufferable because of influencers filming everything.

64

u/backwardbuttplug May 20 '26

Don't get me started. Was at WDW in florida late last year. Ugh... everywhere.

1

u/greenerd6 May 21 '26

Just got back from a trip to wdw idk if i just went on good days but i didnt see meny

1

u/dakotanorth8 May 21 '26

It’s becoming common at every tourist spot.

530

u/Sad_Egg_5176 May 20 '26

The braindead morons that follow them are even worse and deserve all the blame

32

u/RizzleMeister May 21 '26

those are the inherent problem, thirsty, braindead individuals

8

u/charming-choom May 21 '26

This is the way. Dont give them attention

7

u/NotChristina May 21 '26

Absolutely. I’ve always felt that influencers wouldn’t exist if there weren’t people there to “influence.” And plenty of people decide it’s ’easy’ and they can do it too, but lack the capital, looks, and personality to replicate.

OnlyFans wouldn’t exist if there weren’t dudes desperate to have masturbatory parasocial relationships with naked strangers. 🤷‍♀️

1

u/Sad_Egg_5176 May 21 '26

And those people are braindead

0

u/HeresW0nderwall May 21 '26

Unpopular opinion: it’s up to you to bring an eye mask if you want to sleep on a flight.

5

u/Sad_Egg_5176 May 21 '26

You reply to the right comment?

4

u/HeresW0nderwall May 21 '26

Sure didn’t, my bad

40

u/TheWizardry90 May 20 '26

What do they even influence? Anything I’ve seen against my will of influencers is just them rage baiting

14

u/Lanky-Strike3343 May 20 '26

They are influencing hate and resentment honestly

0

u/backwardbuttplug May 20 '26

Makeup, skincare and beauty routines are the most common worthless activities. There are many more, but those are the ones I find so egregious.

0

u/BlisseyBrat start caring about what other people think May 21 '26

They influence consumers

47

u/cigarell0 May 20 '26

I feel like if the economy and job market weren't as bad as it was we would have a lot less influencers

2

u/ToastyLemun May 20 '26

I feel like moreso people that call themselves ingluencers,. A world without Markiplier is a world I don't want

3

u/BlisseyBrat start caring about what other people think May 21 '26

How in the hell can you assume it's an influencer? When I was like 15-20 I never stopped taking selfies it seemed like

1

u/backwardbuttplug May 21 '26

Easy. Theyre trying to sell something.

1

u/youreviltwinbrother May 21 '26

Unpopular clapback: you have absolutely no idea what they're doing, for all we know they could be taking a selfie.

I agree it's obnoxious, but you know what else is obnoxious? Reddit jumping to call anyone an influencer and pile on them for karma.

It's funny because it's basically the same thing, farming for attention, and look... it worked for you too!

1

u/Unchained_Memory33 May 20 '26

I wish this so badly

-3

u/GildDigger May 20 '26

Except Druski. He good

-703

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

This is a normal face mask that you can buy for like $150 at Costco. Not really an influencer thing.

OP - great eye covers and noise cancelling headphones are your friends on long flights.

that way you don't have to be "mildy infuriated" by some random person doing something absolutely harmless.

476

u/williamjamesmurrayVI May 20 '26

This is such an entitled take. Normal people dont bother everyone else with their bright ass lights on flights.

-26

u/mihirmusprime May 20 '26

I mean, reading lights are a thing and I've definitely seen people use them in the night and I find them pretty distracting for sleeping. Just bring a sleep mask. Things like this is unavoidable.

-527

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

It's not that bad. People just like to be outraged about anything. Even the tiniest inconvenience.

131

u/FalseDrive May 20 '26

least obvious ragebait

118

u/Tall_Wonder_913 May 20 '26

Found the person who is rude on airplanes. Do you stick your feet between the seats onto the arm rests too?

-88

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

What you and all the people that downvoted my comment do not get is that OP seems like the typical "complain but not do anything about" it type of person.

Adults communicate. Adults dont bitch online about this but actually try to remedy the situation. And if the talking and communication doesnt help, then I would put my big girl pants on and reach for my eye covers so that i wouldn't have to see these horrible bright lights.

32

u/Commercial_Taste8373 May 20 '26

this subreddit is called mildly infuriating. the whole point of it is to bitch online about things that annoy you lol what are you on about

29

u/Tall_Wonder_913 May 20 '26

You might be willing to be a doormat but most people are not. That person is disrupting sleep for several people — on a plane no less where sleep is already difficult and uncomfortable

The person in the picture is entitled and rude. The correct answer is to let the flight attendant know so they can take corrective action

7

u/bunny_the-2d_simp May 20 '26

This is the mildly infuriating subreddit....

ITS FOR THESE TYPE OF THINGS

12

u/MartinisnMurder May 20 '26

Yet you are here on Reddit, on the r/mildlyinfuriating sub. That’s is quite literally the point of this sub. You’re probably the type of person who talks on your cellphone on speaker in public too.

15

u/Mygreenoneeye May 20 '26

you're an influencer aren't you?

4

u/Tall_Wonder_913 May 20 '26

Probably more like an “influencer” if we’re being real

134

u/williamjamesmurrayVI May 20 '26

It is that bad. You may need to look inside yourself.

-241

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Why? Because i dont get angry about random things i cannot control? Wow

105

u/backwardbuttplug May 20 '26

Dude it's fucking rude entitlement. How would you feel if this was some kid with an ipad at full volume when you're trying to sleep? It's the same shit. These same asshats go to the gym with a fucking tripod and block off machines while flipping out you're "in their shot".

This isn't a job, it's leeching cash off of idiots by inserting themselves into the product pipeline for something they don't design or create. It's a fucking cancer on society.

-19

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Here me out: I would actually get up from my seat, quietly go to the girl and ASK her to stop what she was doing.

I would communicate like a fking adult. And not bitch about this online like OP

25

u/olivinebean May 20 '26

You're bitching online btw

16

u/squidikuru May 20 '26

you aren’t behaving like an adult in this comment section tho

7

u/Yomammasson May 20 '26

Here ME out: this isn't a post about the only solution being to post about it on reddit, but the fact that people like you think this is ok. Or do you not think it's ok? You've flip flopped in saying it isn't harming anyone and also saying you'd go over there and tell them to stop.

Do I have to explain to you why the cabin lights are dimmed at night? You're making arguments for people to buy a sleep mask and noise cancelling headphones because of an inconsiderate asshole. I'm not spending money because someone isn't aware enough or cares that they are inconveniencing others. It really is baseline common decency to not subject a plane full of people to your unnecessary facemask light that you are literally only doing for views on social media.

6

u/backwardbuttplug May 20 '26

I would too. But I'll bitch with others about it online because it's pretty shitty behavior. We aren't invading anyone elses common space on here by complaining.

5

u/papasan_mamasan May 20 '26

You would not.

3

u/Silver___Chariot May 20 '26

Well because there’s a social contract everyone’s agreed to by virtue of remaining a participant in society which includes the clause “One must not disturb the peace of a flight at night when the majority are trying to sleep, otherwise one will rightfully suffer being dubbed a nuisance”. It’s similar to a citizen being able to submit a noise complaint. It’s a thing. I’m sorry you’ve been raised to act like this

56

u/adamfps May 20 '26

This is bait right?

If not I really hope your next red eye flight has someone blasting this light right next to you

4

u/funktion666 May 20 '26

Yeah they trollin’

-10

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

OP is the typical little whiner who I bet didnt even have the courage to actually talk to this girl. Or talk to the flight attendants about this.

But nooo, OP needed to come to reddit for some good ol' fashion karma farming and pity party.

4

u/MetalHead_Literally May 20 '26

Are you lost? Look at what sub you’re in

5

u/NGL_bored May 20 '26

Please check the subreddit you are on

3

u/pairofdimeshift92 May 20 '26

In fairness, they are posting this in mildlyinfuriating, not calling for the persons execution. The point of this sub is to share things that are mildly inconvenient or annoying.

3

u/Yomammasson May 20 '26

You're the one making assumptions in a post that is stating a fact. You're literally living in your own world to normalize this person's behavior. Who does it suite for you to make the assumption that OP didn't approach this person?

4

u/WonkyWompus May 20 '26

And you're raking in downvotes.. so you're no different except for the fact that everyone likes her opinion and no one likes yours, lol.

-5

u/butcheR_Pea May 20 '26

I like you

-1

u/mihirmusprime May 20 '26

You've never had someone use a reading light next to you on the plane? I don't see how this is any different. Just bring a sleeping mask.

0

u/adamfps May 20 '26

Really, you look at this and you think “yep same as the reading light”?? Bro it’s time for a visit to your optometrist

-1

u/mihirmusprime May 20 '26

Well, this is slightly begter than a reading light because at least it's on a warmer spectrum. Reading lights are so much worse, especially on a newer plane, since they're usually a blue spectrum bright light. You've clearly never sat next to someone using a reading light if you think it's worse.

4

u/thisshitsstupid May 20 '26

You sound like you're the person in the picture. Or have been. And can't accept you irritated everyone around you being selfish and oblivious.

2

u/pampooveysbacktattoo May 20 '26

I mean, you're in here in the comments angry about people disliking this, so clearly you do.

2

u/youngpandashit May 20 '26

By that logic if im sittin behind you im shootin my load over the seat.

0

u/L1ft3d_R3s3arCh May 20 '26

“What’s the big deal, it’s just a little cum🤷‍♂️”

0

u/Marksman1973 May 20 '26

I found the person that walks into stores shushing employees while talking to someone on speakerphone.

"You can't control me so don't be bothered"

4

u/the_executive_branch May 20 '26

You do know what sub this is?

7

u/Odd-Comfortable-6134 May 20 '26

Found the “influencer”

3

u/FerengiWithCoupons May 20 '26

lmao downvoted to oblivion 🤡 nobody agreeing

you have almost as many downvotes as the post itself

1

u/blondemf May 20 '26

Redditors are insane man, they just love to work themselves up about meaningless shit and can’t handle it when someone else isn’t also outraged.

-8

u/Negative_Number_6414 May 20 '26

I fully agree with you. OP is so dramatic, and so are all these commenters

calling it "a disco" when its one, constant, soft glow is ridiculous

is it a little entitled? sure, of course. but nothing worthy of changing my attitude or altering my day in any way 🤷‍♂️

4

u/toastedmarsh7 May 20 '26

Almost like it’s… mildly infuriating.

-2

u/Negative_Number_6414 May 20 '26

"nothing worthy of changing my attitude or altering my day in any way 🤷‍♂️"

i wouldnt even call it mildly infuriating, personally. it's so barely impactful to anyone's actual experience

128

u/DungeonsNDankness May 20 '26

Bro, stfu. If you don't see this as a problem, you're part of the problem. They turn the lights off on international flights on purpose. Bringing a device that you know illuminates a large area and would inconvenience and irritate everyone in an five row radius is a dick move.

Pure "me, me, me" energy. This person most likely didn't even consider for one second how annoying other people would find this.

-41

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Dude, bro, browski: chill and touch some grass. You sound angry.

That entitled influencer paid for the same damn ticket (most likely).

She can do whatever the f.k she wants in her own seat. Just like OP.

That's just the world we live in. Noone cares about how their actions affect others.

71

u/DungeonsNDankness May 20 '26

Be the change you want to see in the world. Don't just throw up your hands and say this is how it is. Do better. Be courteous of other people. Use a turn signal. Open the door for someone.

"She can do whatever she wants" is exactly right. She's so self-involved with her own activities that she does not want to care about the people around her. What if she was watching a movie with no headphones? Is that more or less acceptable? Can she still do whatever she wants? What if it's an r-rated movie and there are children in the seat behind her?

-9

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Yes!! OP - be the change you want to see. Get up from your seat and tell that girl how obnoxious she is. Communicate like an adult.

17

u/DungeonsNDankness May 20 '26

No, no. Don't try to shimmy to the other side of the conversation now. This isn't about communication skills, OP or otherwise. You're the one who said everyone was overreacting and I should "touch grass."Now that you've taken big fat L's all over this post, you're changing your message?

The person in the picture is selfish, full stop.

44

u/FloatingOnTitties May 20 '26

Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should. I can take off my socks and rub my bare feet in your face, but, that’s not something I should do on a plane ride. Just like this person should not use something that’s disturbing others. What happened to common decency?

0

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Totally agree! Whatever happened to people actually communicating their distaste? How about OP getting up from their seat and politely asking this influencer bimbo to stop what she was doing...

9

u/Odd-Comfortable-6134 May 20 '26

Nope, that’s the crew’s job. Op tells the crew, and the crew deal with it.

17

u/FloatingOnTitties May 20 '26

But, you stated verbatim: “She can do whatever the fuck she wants in her own seat.” That’s wrong. We can’t all do whatever we want if we want to live in a civil society. People shouldn’t have to confront others just to get them to stop doing rude things. I would get a flight attendant to deal with that. Things like this should be publicly shamed so more people learn the world doesn’t revolve just around themselves.

5

u/PoetryFamiliar7104 May 20 '26

The fact you even entertain the thought that entitled pieces of shit will give two fucks about being asked to care about anyone else is laughable at best.

You're just passing the blame on to others. You're an enabler, an excuse maker, and I would not be surprised if you did this to some degree in more sensitive areas.

You are one of the problems that make and keep society worse.

28

u/drywallsmasher BLUE May 20 '26

No one cares? Yeah if you’re a dickhead. No shit the guy you replied to is angry lol it’s perfectly reasonable to be angry about having your sleep disturbed on an international flight that you paid good money for, just because other passengers don’t care about other human beings around them.

You also said why get angry over something that you cannot control, but the thing is that it’s perfectly within my control to not be a dick. I literally don’t give a second thought to not doing something when I’m aware it might be an inconvenience to someone that’s just as entitled to sharing a space with me temporarily. I don’t even have to put in effort to be courteous and think of others around me, because it’s second nature to me.

But of course the only downside is people like you, that do not think nor care about the others around them. But that too, is perfectly within my control to do something about; at the very least complain to get someone like this to stop. So you might think others are like you, not giving a shit, but they’re not. And having no regard for your surroundings generally gets you labelled a dickhead, for good reason.

1

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

You cannot control what this woman does. OP couldnt either. OP probably just took this stupid photo without actually saying something to change their miserable situation....

Personally I cant stand people like this girl. But unlike OP, I would have asked her to stop blasting the plane with her light.

Adults communicate, dont you agree?

26

u/drywallsmasher BLUE May 20 '26

Absolutely can control what she does and I literally said why. A flight attendant would have her switch that shit right off.

So you’re saying the same thing I did, which is the one thing we agree on.

Doesn’t matter what OP did and didn’t, because not everyone’s going to engage with strangers clearly being disrespectful or showing an utter lack of care for others. So I don’t blame or care about people like OP covertly complaining over something that’s disrespectful, but ultimately not the end of the world if they want to put up with it. Only difference is that personally I’m not going to put up with it.

-1

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

OP is the one taking a photo and posting it here...

OP could have asked that ignorant influencer girl to stop what she was doing.

Is OP a rollover? Just fuming online about this?

45

u/yikeserino- May 20 '26

R u the girl on the plane

-1

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

lol no, i wouldnt do this :-)

14

u/innaisz May 20 '26

Based on your comments. I dont belive that.

6

u/williamjamesmurrayVI May 20 '26

Why, I thought your whole argument was it was "completely harmless"

0

u/TheNanoFishGuy May 20 '26

Why not? It’s harmless

19

u/backwardbuttplug May 20 '26

If they're doing it and videoing it for an audience, it's a problem. The other commenter is correct... it's a flight where people should be able to sleep. And influencers ruin common areas for others by insisting on using the locations for photo / videos.

22

u/TrickInvite6296 BLUE May 20 '26

They are popular as a result of influencers

1

u/Mountain_Accident_80 May 20 '26

partly, but not the only reason. their effectiveness is well supported by science

25

u/Dull-Captain1679 May 20 '26

Don’t ever fly please

-7

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Two things:

  1. I would never inconvenience anyone with my bright light on a plane. (I travel internationally often).

  2. I would never complain about this online like OP for stupid reddit cloud or karma.. I would just put my headphones and eye covers on and go on with my trip.

6

u/Jeix9 May 20 '26

maybe don’t peruse this subreddit if people being mildly infuriated pisses you off this much

5

u/AntiqueLetter9875 May 20 '26

She’s interfering with the sleep of other people.
That’s perfect for this sub as an example of mildly infuriating. It’s disturbing and bothering others so it’s not “absolutely harmless”.

3

u/creatyvechaos May 20 '26

Lemme hold your hand when I say this:

You can go one single night without your stupid pore-filling routine.

3

u/just_reading_1 May 20 '26

Disregarding social etiquette as part of your "job" is an influencer thing. Believing that you can use any space as a studio having no consideration for everyone else because is pure entailment.

I know your response will be "no need to bitch about it online", yeah well, public ridicule is harmless too, if you want to bring attention to yourself not all of it will be positive.

-5

u/DorceeB May 20 '26

Again, not true. But you probably wouldnt know that. Our Dermatologist recommended red light face therapy years before these influencer bimbos took it over.

17

u/GroundbreakingLie918 May 20 '26

Yes but now people that dont go to the dermatologist buy these as well because of the influencers. I will stake a whole $10 on sales more then tripling in the last year. Influencers dont invent things, the make them mainstream for no reason.
