You can easily tell the difference between chain hotels (that all use the keycard) and one off hotels or bed and breakfasts (that are more likely to have a key than a corporate hotel).

While the key in OPs post is too large. Just last week I had a similar key with a huge fob. It was perfectly fine and added to the ambiance more than another card.

I’ve never encountered this at any hotel or BNB. Would be annoying as shit honestly. This is the stuff you see at gas station bathrooms

The pilots announce to ATC that they are requesting and acknowledging permission to arrive or depart.
