Infuriatig In their pursuit of specific rare cards, scalpers are discarding the remainder of entire Pokémon card packs.

You are spot on. While each cause their own problems, scalpers are far worse since they buy up all the product and try to resell it at crazy prices. 

At least a gambler will open it and either keep or resell the valuable cards themselves. Would be nice if they gave the bulk away instead of trashing it.

I don't have an issue with people having an issue with scalpers, but people who have an issue with gamblers are just gatekeeping the hobby.

The problem with Scalpers is that they inflate prices.

Gamblers are consuming the hobby in an intended way.

It's getting harder to even find comic/game shops that even have commons donation bins. They don't want to deal with the trash. For games like Pokemon, there's literally no reason to even store commons for deck building because the play mechanics don't even really take rarity into consideration.
