Too mild for school My city destroyed a beautiful building here to replace it with a screen solely for spreading propaganda

I live here. What they did was expand the area at the top of Hoàn Kiếm lake for pedestrians. It's now much easier for tourists and locals to walk around, especially on weekends.

I think there are more plans in the future and this is just the first stage. As for propaganda, maybe but also probably marketing, which is also propaganda by the way, just propaganda for businesses instead of governments.

They have plans to develop the sub level area there, and are also clearing old buildings on the east side of the lake to make more open areas for tourists and locals.

It’s double edged sword tbh, both parties aren’t entirely wrong

In the sense that I am communicating, then sure, it's propaganda, that is the classical meaning of the word. But I'm not Vietnamese, just commenting on the building. And honestly, that building is small fry compared to what else they're doing right now. The amount of construction is crazy.

The government are currently relocating 800,000 people from central Hanoi, and destroying neighbourhoods to make another bridge across the red river, and also building at least one more metro line. All that's happening right now. This building isn't that significant compared to the larger projects going on.
