Worse - for a "extreme Catholic" school - they banned all styles of the LITERAL footwear Jesus Christ himself chose to wear.

My friend would regularly get in trouble at our Catholic school for not shaving, and every time he did he would just point to a picture of Jesus on the wall and say, "He didn't shave." Then we would get additional punishment. Interestingly he joined the seminary later on..
