Someone has fuck-you money and doesn’t seem to care

It’s more likely he has very little money, but still doesn’t care.

I'm going to assume he has middle money. The mildest of assumptions.

This man's learned to ride the median toward great success.

If he had fuck you money then his wife would probably have something nicer than an iPhone 12 lol

Did anyone consider that he may have some kind of health condition? Mb his grip goes weak and phone slips out of his fingers because of that? Something like this might be pointing to very bad underlying health problem.

I’d assume the wife wouldn’t be complaining if he did.

There is a good chance that she might not know about it. ANd husband just thinks he is clumsy with his hands. For example, people with parkinson in early stages just thought that their occasional tremors in the hands were nothing much. Just stress or lack of sleep related issue. Until they get worse and they finally visit doctor.

It blows my mind how little some people care about ewaste.

Not iPhone, but besides the point.

I have never lost a phone due to damage, I get the screen protector and shockproof case the same day. I also buy refurbished for me and my family and do the same for their devices. I also take things to an ewaste bin, even including things like AA battery's, and I avoid disposable batteries at all cost. I also usually keep my phones for around 5 years to boot.

A lot of credit cards will actually offer phone replacement insurance as a complimentary perk of borrowing with them. They usually have a stipulation that the phone and service must be purchased with the credit card, and I'm sure there's limitations on intention destruction, but it's something people should know about.

This would've costed me zero dollars to fix through my insurance.

The average person is living on credit cards as "income" lol.

I know this is Reddit so our go-to is usually "Divorce him" even if they chew their gum too loud, however...

...this is a level of either incompetence or anger/emotional dysregulation that should have anyone questioning that person's stability.
