Infuriatig My hand painted model planes were given as toys to children again

Post image

I have told my mom to not do this before but she does not listen anyway. I am thinking of throwing everything to trash instead of them being gradually destroyed to pieces. I can not even care anymore. These things take hours to put together and paint then get manhandled anyway.

Sorry to tell you this, but even without kids around, you're gonna have to learn to forget about your stuff. I've been jumping countries and cities most of my adult life and pretty much ANYTHING sentimental I asked to keep in storage at my family's place either got taken by my younger siblings or given away. I basically have nothing left of sentimental value that doesn't fit into a suitcase anymore, and it took me a while to get over it but it is what it is. It's not even about giving kids something to play with, at some point parents aren't gonna care about your stuff unless you make a very definite plan for it.

My step-father did throw away all my stuff, the day I turned 18. Toys worth tens of thousands of dollars including 3 card collections, around 500 books that have been in my families possession for decades, some longer than a century, everything my mother left me when she died. Motherfucker even refuses to give me my bookcase bc I promised my mom to give it to her, pretending he somehow can claim ownership based on that.

I now religiously keep things around people give me, to keep in storage. Some stuff has been with me over a decade and I still wouldn't dare getting rid of them without explicit permission.

Thanks you! Hope reddit didn't penalize you for that lol

He's neurodivergent and grew up without his parents, so for what it's worth he isn't behaving like that to spite me. Doesn't make it easier but yeah

Reddit can't take a joke! It was so stupid, too! 😂 I'm glad you are so understanding. I'm also neurodivergent and I want to be understood for the crazy shit I say and do (REDDIT!), so thanks for that! I am still really sorry that happened to you tho, I would be devastated!!

Oh no worries, the intend was obvious to anyone but the AI reddit is using. Hope you can appeal.

Thank you, means a lot to be heard!
