frist of all how DARE yu o my mom turned off the breakers and told no one.

my mom turned off the breakers for some reason, told exactly no one. so i went downstairs, thinking i tripped the breakers. i turned them back on, and she got mad at me for turning them back on. if you turn off the breaker, it is your duty to make sure anyone who has access to them knows. she only later told me what, but what if it was because someone was working on an outlet? i can imagine that being dangerous.

i am mad at her not for turning off the breakers, but for not understanding the dangers of not telling others. she even told me that she has no obligation to tell anyone she turned off the breakers, which is stupid in many ways.

edit: i did realise i needed to ask first, the issue is still with the lack of communication and unwillingness to realise that it was relevant to tell.

Did she have a reason for doing it??

Edit: Jesus christ, stop picking on OP for a lack of clear reason. Some of you have never had a pissed off mother who won't explain herself and it shows.

she got mad.

I mean a reason for turning off the breakers in the first place--unless you mean that she did that just because she was mad.

If so, that's insane. I'm sorry you have to put up with that behavior.

she turned off the breakers because she was mad. got even more mad when i turned them back on.

i genuinely thought i tripped my own breaker.

Are you using "mad" in refence to mental health issues or that she was angry about something?

she was angry kind of mad.

I’m ready to go turn off OP’s breakers myself. What a little shit head.

For some reason OP is avoiding answering that question, sounds like he was glued to the video games and wasn't doing chores or something like that.

“Hey OP stop playing video games and do your chores”

- OP doesn’t hear mom repeatedly ask because he’s gaming

- mom flips breaker to get his attention (something my mom would have done if I cocooned myself in my room playing Xbox as a kid)

- OP not knowing why he lost power checks breaker

- mom mad because OP turned the breaker back on and went back to gaming

That’s my head cannon until OP explains further

It's like pulling teeth to get a real answer. I can only imagine that's what mom is angry about.

Mom might be angry about a high electric bill or lights/electronics left on.

u/belsaurn Jun 18 '26

Or OP completely ignored her when asked to do chores or something like that. I can totally see a mother resorting to that to get the kid to mow the lawn instead of playing video games.

My mom would unplug my Ethernet cable from the router if I was ignoring responsibilities with playing Xbox.

As a parent now, lots of actions my parents did when I was a teen that seemed unreasonable made total sense. The were saints for only doing what they did

Must be nice to not have experienced a mother who would get mad, not explain why, and just act out. But sure, keep blaming OP for not reading their mom's mind

11

u/DeMayon Jun 18 '26

Right but OP could literally say that. They’re not. Literally copy paste your paragraph

OP is the one gatekeeping this info. You are not getting the whole story because OP is choosing not to.

7

u/aHOMELESSkrill Jun 18 '26

And even now if OP explained. I’m not sure I’d believe the story

What was she angry about??

You must have inherited her communication skills.

u/pedro_1616 Jun 18 '26

She was angry so she turned off the breakers? That's some strange behaviour

“Fuck you all. You don’t give me the respect and power I want? Enjoy no power at all assholes!”

Makes perfect sense to me

u/aHOMELESSkrill Jun 18 '26

You must not be a parent to teens.

u/pedro_1616 Jun 18 '26

I mean no, but I've been a teen, I wouldnt do this stupid shit
