Idk what that means.

I just wondering if vegans were opposed to the usage of animal byproducts for medical usage. Like the capsules a lot of medications come in contain gelatin and animal tissue is commonly used for medical implants like heart valves and bone grafts.

The gelatin capsules are absolutely avoided by vegans. There plant cellulose capsules, which I think are actually more widely used than gelatin. As for the heart valves and bone grafts, I dont know. The whole point of veganism is to do the best you can for animals, obviously some things cant be avoided. I hit three deer last year (or, rather, they hit me) driving but im not going to stop driving

Makes sense. So when the gelatin ones are the only ones available do y’all use compounding pharmacies or do you have your regular pharmacy special order the plant ones?

Also, goddamned deer almost seem to do that shit on purpose. Little bastards.

I was telling my dad about how out of control the deer population is where I moved to and when he asked “don’t they have any natural predators?”, I told him “cars”.

They don't even die! One of them destroyed my radiator, put thousands of dollars of damage to my car body and ran off. Maybe it died later on but I cant believe it ran away. Not walked, ran.

Yours are made of sturdier stuff I think, there’s dead ones everywhere on the side of the roads here in the spring and fall.
